Literally.  You wouldn't believe the callus that builds up on your fingers after a month or two of chainmail-making.

I mean, in the mid-90s, when I was working on human-scale mail with 10-gage wire, I swear I had a callus about a quarter-inch thick on one finger on my right hand.  Just this dinky 16-gage like Joan is wearing will give you a blister in a day if you're not callused-up and/or careful.

So that's how you made the knife and sword? Cool!

I did some when I was young and healed fast, but more of a wrought -iron kind of thing. I think it was mostly wrist stress, but my wrists notable for being small and limber.

Yeah - nails, and a lot of hammering.  Those are real, except I didn't put edges on them.
