Has anyone else had this problem? In my game, every probe team I've ever made is detected and I get Vendetta'd.

I just did a test with Scenario Maker, with Data Angels. I got every tech and made a probe hovertank with Resonance 8 armor, and Algorithmic Encryption and Polymorphic whatcha-ma-callit. The ones that half probe team failure and 2x to subvert. I got the Probe helping Secret Projects and Bioenhancement Center and Command Center, and moved my tank over to a University Base.

I ordered to drain energy reserves, and my probe team made it back alive, but Zak declared Vendetta on me!

Is this a bug? Or am I just VERY unlucky?

I've never had that problem. What version are you running (hit [Ctrl]F4)?

Curious. I play an unpatched version because I'm a huge cheater in SP, but I don't get a huge amount of probe team fail ---

Oh wait. You said you were playing Data Angels? That's the probe bonus rollover bug; it rolls over to have an effective minus probe score. If you want to play Angels properly, you want to try the scientIfic patch - look in Downloads under patches. It's the first thing scient fixed, I believe.

This happens on other factions as well, although that might be because I never use probes unless I have the proper bonuses. But thanks!

I don't think it's a bug; I think that sometimes even if your team isn't captured, they still know who did it. IIRC, there is an option for some actions to hide it or even frame another faction, though.
