I'm debating that when I do my AAR, as I have one extra slot not covered by one of my custom factions, of incorporating one of your factions into the mix, or using an original faction. Message me on that accord Kilkakon if you have idea's on that so we don't distract attention from Green.

As for this AAR Green, I am wondering how you are going to deal with the Overmind. I am guessing mass production of Empath/High Morale troops?

Good sermon, Green.  ;b;

Sounds like a real sermon and something Miriam might really say at the same time.

May not be quite a rampage after all. There is a stack of 3 demon boil Antimind mindworms approaching that last captured Borg base. Native wildlife that last turn ate like 3 impact rovers up there. About 4 impact infantry that were to meet up with the rovers met a similar fate trying to cross the fungus between former Lawyer territory to that Borg base. That Borg base is very isolated and if the Antimind attacks en mass, it opens the door to major centers like Revalation Base  over very rough and fungus infested terrain.  My vassal, the Lawyers have declared war on the Antimind. i do not have near the military I have seen glimpses of up there Antimind has because I have been on a former/facility build rotation to cope with unrest in all these conquered territories.

Worse, from some initial exploration, it appears Oblivion was practicing Yang style ICS with a bunch of bases right together up there.

This game is far from over.

This can turn nasty in a hurry.

Yeah, a lot of folks do not realize that Miriam is actually a very intelligent and likable person if you are a Believer. She was a bad ass. I read somewhere she had two doctorates, one in Psychology the other in Divinity. Of course, you can still be highly intelligent and charismatic and still be insane. I think all the factions have varying degrees of insanity but with very intelligent underpinnings.

And that's the beauty of this game. Miriam in my eyes is the type of person, if you remove the layer of religious fanaticism, is actually a person of cold hard realities. She has some very plausible and convincing arguments and she obviously demonstrates qualities of leadership both in the stories she is involved in, and the game. The kick of insanity comes in when she is tied with her religion. I find her and Vazheli somewhat similar in the sense they moved to their ideals, as they both had background in their respective ideal and then when the Unity crisis and following Planetfall hit them, they were pushed to pursue their ideals to the extreme.

Even people like Yang have very philosophical elements and I find this game represents ideals and philosophies in a realistic, fairly unbiased light.

Yeah, I've always liked that people like Morgan, Santiago, Deirdre, Zakharov, Lal and Miriam can be imagined as either quite benevolent characters or like fanatic tyrants. It's a bit more difficult with Yang, though.

Yang's qualities are harder to perceive for someone biased under more democratic like views, and I myself do not agree with Yang either, but for me Yang's qualities is for his actual devotion in experimentation: I find he and Zakharov are quite similar in that they are both willing to use their people in order to increase knowledge. While using their people as lab subjects, either as social experiments or as actual scientific ones is abhorrid and unethical, they both have a drive to increase their knowledge. It's just Zakharov wants to increase only knowledge while Yang is actually on a quest to find what true Utopia is, and that in itself is admirable. Yang is also quite calm and very wise to boot and has a very firm understanding of human psyche and limits and expresses this himself. Of course he is also an oppressive nutjob in his abuse of this knowledge so its fairly balanced.

Yang is not so black or white either. Yang basically runs his place like a yoga studio or more appropriately, a Buddhist monastery. There is no "democracy" in a Yoga studio or monastery. Of course, monastery life would seem to be oppressive to most of us. But, there is a bliss with not having to think or worry every day with what you need to do. His oppression also seems to be towards healthy and secular spiritual things like group exercise and meditation.

Yang does have the well being of his people in mind. His solution is control. But, unlike folks like the nut jobs in North Korea, Yang is more of a philosopher. Problem is, folks have ambition and want more. Someone like that would not like being in a place where you have nothing and everything is controlled by the state.

Unfortunately, as well, unlike the Buddhist monasteries on Earth, there is no "leaving" the temple if the temple no longer works for you. You are a suppressive person who must be "cured" for the whole.

Well said, I think that sums up Yang pretty well. All factions are well intentioned extremists in reality, even my custom ones are. (Scratch that, especially my custom ones.)

One person's utopia is anothers dystopia.

By the way, the world map as of 2195:

Yellow is the Lawyers who are now part of the Church legal department. (Vassal)

Purple is the jailbait from Iceland.

Up to the upper corner are former Oblivion bases now belonging to Antimind.

Notice our empire is pretty spread out with lots of wilderness and no roads between various parts.

Look who is knocking on our northernmost former Borg base...

I would ask Antimind to leave, but i am in it's territory too.

I really need a breather to re-up on troops and consolidate my empire.

Those Antimind mindworm units back up as a caravan of an impact rover and 2 of my own mindworm units come to reinforce.

Red Revolution completes The Virtual World.

Antimind demands we leave territory as we see an Antimind Missile Needle jet stream overhead to annihilate a Lazytown infantry!

We cash in an artifact and gain a new tech.
