MY 2316.  I didn't see the actual attack.  Maybe it was done mistakenly.  Usually an ally will terminate a Pact before just outright attacking.

We take the base we wanted that completes our coastal rail.  It doesn't calm Cha Dawn down.  He had so much mindworm and spore launcher spam in that base that it's committed a lot of our offensive forces.  Fortunately he has plenty of other weak points to get his attention with.  Thing is, we don't actually want any of them.

All of our Amphibious Empath Missile Hovertanks are spoken for, slaughtering numerous Clean Transports in this 1 base.  The Caretakers really went crazy on that.  I must admit, it has a certain defensive logic.  Nothing but sheer piles of defenders to get through.

We take a Cultist base that's connected to our rail line, because it is poorly defended.  We commit the old Gatling Infantry to the task.  We still hold mindworms and scouts in reserve.

This is the Cha Dawn we known and love.  Of course he could just attack us again next year.  I get him to knock off his war with the Free Drones, which will at least prevent any further crossfire surprises.  He won't sign a Treaty though.

As a precaution against 'surprise' attack, we protect our large and badly wounded "door force" with a Gatling Interceptor.  It doesn't look like he has anything in the region to attack us with, but you never know.

We have 3 Aerospace Complexes, 2 of which are out of range of any targets.  They are producing the new Drop planes, which will help with cleaning up the Caretakers.  The 3rd base has a target in range, so it is producing conventional planes.  All will be bioenhanced.

The first Drop Missile Needlejet enters service.  Who should I destroy?  Logic says the Caretakers, but emotion says Cha Dawn.  I have conventional planes nearly in range of Cultist territory, so logic wins.  The Amphibious Empath Missile Hovertanks got diverted to fighting Cha Dawn, because his cities are no longer connected by rail and my Formers are all busy with more important matters.  The Sealurks are mostly completing the original mission of liquidating the Caretaker sea bases, but Drop Needlejets can hurry that up.

MY 2323.  We prefer to build only 1 secret project per city.  That's in case any ever get nuked.  Although realistically, that is never going to happen as we're the only faction with Planet Buster technology.  We still haven't built one because we're prototyping Probability Sheath armor.  We're waiting for our preferred secret project city to finish a supply crawler.  In the interim, 9 of our supply crawlers call Gaia's Landing home, and provide abundant energy for it.  This is our only primary research center, where all available laboratory facilities were built.
