The list nullifies the influence of religion on the holidays...

Looks like the Gregorian calendar to me.

The New Year's Day represents a new year on the basis of scientific analysis of the Earth's revolution based on the works of a man under the influence of religion.

While the Gregorian calendar appears in the dates, the application of a new calendar will represent a product of the decisions from the people's democratic government. An alternate format of dates appears in the French Revolutionary Calendar.

Another calendar appears in the Soviet model of dividing the days into a new work week system.

No. New Year's is scientifically meaningless. If you want a scientifically meaningful new year, it should be based around equinoxes/solstices. But those are all heavily religiously tinged, because we've been studying them for millennia.

New China Television; the expansion of the Belt and Road Initiative
« Reply #96 on: December 25, 2018, 05:18:25 PM »
Sorry...

The new belt and road initiative reveals the importance of better infrastructure and technology in the advancement of a society; China embodies the influence of new technology on the development of a strong transportation system.

I will concede the point on the scientific basis for the New Year's Day.

The "gripping hand" is that Beijing takes custody of infrastructure it built in countries which are unable to pay back loans.

The Compilation Thread for Worker Actions
« Reply #100 on: December 27, 2018, 12:11:46 AM »
The industrial actions involve the struggle for human rights against the incessant greed and exploitation of corporate capitalism. The thread's purpose consists of illustrating the inhumane elements of modern capitalism with the hope for a worker's revolution. Each post will illustrate a single topic.

'Dress for Less at What Cost?' Ross Dress for Less Strike
« Reply #101 on: December 27, 2018, 12:15:16 AM »
The article discusses the potential issues behind the incessant exploitative actions of the Ross corporation towards the garment workers and finishers inside the U.S.A. The worker action reveals the rampant abuse of multiple layers of corporate management and distribution to conceal the underpayment of finishing workers in the U.S.A.

Inmates reveal the abusive and exploitative nature of "Criminal Justice"
« Reply #102 on: December 27, 2018, 12:21:50 AM »
The article discusses the rampant and brutal exploitation of the workers inside the prisons of the U.S.A. The American prisons still allow the enslavement of people under the 14th amendment principles as a form of punishment, yet the constitution bases the principle on the concept of prohibiting cruel and unusual punishment.

Didn't I read CRISPR had a serious flaw they just discovered?

I thought the Chinese scientist that did this was in some hot water in China as well?

Too busy to look it up.

He did some dodgy stuff; he didn't inform the parents of what he was doing, and it's arguable that the risk of the children developing AIDS didn't justify the risk he was taking with the therapy.  I think all in all there were like a dozen ethical objections.
