Agreed.  Talia is already having some mean girl issues, at 9 years old.

If I could instill one thing in my kids, I would hope they pick up at least a little of my I don't give a royal flying [fuddle-duddle] what other people think or say about me attitude.  I'm going to do my thing and everyone else can go [fuddle-duddle] themselves.

(still my favorite swear filter...sorry for intentionally invoking it BU)

I would have to concur about girls being devious, cruel, and more likely to use social media as a weapon.

I also agree about that particular interpretation of the swear filter.

Death for the Environment and Americans: Environmental Deregulation in the U.S.

The prominent obsession of the current administration with the application of budget cuts illustrates the tendency of the conservative governments to reduce the environmental regulations. The reduction in the environmental regulations produce the negative influences from the 1980 Comprehensive Environmental Regulation, Cleanup, and Litigation Act (CERCLA). The act provides for the legal remedies against the hazardous waste disposal by corporations in the United States of America and the act allows for the identification of the "super fund" sites in the United States of America like Love Canal, New York, Centralia, Pennsylvania, Valley of the Drums, Kentucky, and Rocketdyne, California. The recent reduction of the budget for the Environmental Protection Agency causes me to express concern about the state of the environment in the United States of America because the EPA protects the citizens against the indiscriminate pollution of groundwater, air, and natural resources by the corporations in the United States of America. What do you know about the recent reductions in the budget for the environment, and what concerns, if any, might you have possess about the issue?

I have only subbed, but yes, girls can be appallingly vicious.  Their more complex social relationships make them more effective as bullies on an emotional level.

Re: The Second Gilded Era
« Reply #49 on: February 20, 2017, 01:58:26 AM »
There seem to be other big differences between the first Gilded Age and this one.  For instance, in the first Gilded Age, it was the capitalists (business owners) who were running the show, taking much of the wealth, etc.

In this one, it is apparently not the capitalists, but rather the managerial class (CEOs and the like).  This means that while some of the problems (most notably too much connection between politics and wealth) are the same, some are not, and therefore a different solution may be required.

The 'Socialist' Transformation of Venezuela
« Reply #50 on: April 16, 2017, 04:48:36 AM »
The socialist transformation of Venezuela represents a combination of the concerns about the potential ramifications from the decision of the people to produce the necessary nationalization and liberation efforts of the people from the confines of the bourgeois elements inside the contemporary society, but the majority of the population continues to suffer from the blight of the authoritarian regimes in the region through the suppression of the fundamental features of liberty and freedom in the socialist paradigm. The creation of the nationalized healthcare system for the population, and the promotion of the education system constitute a positive development in the region. The majority of the activity in the abolition of the democratic institutions, however, present a dangerous invention for a dictator since the population requires a vanguard for the safety of the people until the socialist development reaches a critical point. The people need to learn from the potential applications of the socialist system inside the country of Venezuela as the people attempt to dispel the shackles of overt oppression in the population.
The population also witnessed the development of the socialist production units inside the state entities for the population inside the confines of the country. The socialist production units represent the culmination of the attempts to provide the workers with a better standard of living among the population until the people recognize the dangers from the situation inside the country with the reactionary elements of the population attempt to subvert the progress of the population through the elimination of the current regime. The presence of the socialist elements inside the country determines the ability of the population to deduce the ability of the people to liberate the population from the concept of wage slavery among the concerns of the people inside the country.

The Socialist Production Units
« Reply #51 on: April 16, 2017, 04:58:59 AM »
The socialist production units in the Venezuela serve as an alternative to the traditional hierarchies inside the governmental and organizational structures of the workers inside the country. The units tend to emphasize the ability of the workers to organize the material of the production along the needs of the workers in the region, and the majority of the activity inside the units constitutes the demands of the workers for the creation of a inclusive labor location for the people inside the country. The socialist production units inside the confines of the country also defines the ability of the people to recognize the importance of the government in the staving of the activities of the bourgeoisie in the initial phase, but the population needs to maintain the initial momentum after the people establish the authority inside the country. The presence of the demands for the population inside the country demonstrates the resilience of the situation.

The Nationalized Food Distribution System in Venezuela
« Reply #52 on: April 16, 2017, 05:05:57 AM »
The nationalized food distribution in Venezuela provides several critical benefits for the population but the majority of the population continue to complain about the absence of the necessities of the materials in the region. The presence of the nationalized food distribution system ensures the population receives the necessary material for life, but the current system also includes a shortage of the materials necessary for the flourishing of the population due to a chronic shortfall of the necessary imports from the capitalists who place an embargo on the country. The presence of the demands among the population for the creation of a clear and concise objective for the government requires a careful consideration of the health and social costs from the inability of the government to match the efficiency demands of the population. The people continue to suffer a shortage of toilet paper and food due to the alleged hoarding of the material goods by the bourgeoisie landowners who sell the products a higher value because the government provides the people with a necessary subsidy to purchase the material.

The Nationalization of Venzuela and the Security of Liberties
« Reply #53 on: April 16, 2017, 05:28:09 AM »
The presence of the nationalization among the oppressive bourgeois industries of the petroleum extraction, media, and other critical sectors like housing in Venezuela demonstrate the commitment of the government to protect the socialist ideals of the country. The presence of the demands demonstrate the damage from the population against the interests of the bourgeoisie capitalists inside the country who attempt to subvert the actions of the leaders under Chavez, but the majority of the country also recognizes the dangers from the seizure of the freedoms from the people. The obvious capture of the subversive influences of the bourgeoisie who attempt to subvert the intentions of the nationalized industries constitutes a portion of the country's transformation, but the seizure of the rights from the specific rights of the people inside the country represents an imminent danger to the protection of the people from the abusive rights of the government and bourgeois leaders in the country. The United States also continues to shelter the actions of the people who precipitate the actions through the alleged freezing of the assets but the majority of the leaders portray a role in the actions of the black market in the region. The presence of the socialist transformation among the goods allows the equitable distribution of the goods in the country, but the majority of the population present a serious interest in the maintenance of the rights among the population to preserve the protections of the population. The interests of the nationalized resource distribution in the capitalist venture activities represents another step in the correct direction.

The combination of the socialist governments desire to control the media and the police represents a dangerous combination. The presence of the changes among the people demonstrate the ability of the government to seize the liberties of the population until the population liberates the actions from the hands of the oppressive forces in the country. The presence of the colectivos in Venezuela demonstrate the ability of the country to construct the abrasive demands of the people against the demands of the nefarious and subversive influences of the western governments in the region. The presence of the demands demonstrate the dangers from the government tolerated paramilitary groups, but the groups also provide the population with a critical service of education. The presence of the secret police in the country presents another aberration among the population because the people continue to experience the horrors from the western sponsored activities from the seventies with the state sponsored death squads under the Colombian government and the United States of America. The presence of the people inside the government power structure ensures the government possesses the ability to produce the necessary adjustments to the composition of the population in the region; although the presence of the paramilitary groups represents a critical step to the establishment of the security among the population. The presence of the security without the presence of liberty constitutes a direct violation of the rights among the people inside the country. The presence of the liberty in the country depends on the presence of the national participation of the population in the democracy of the country, and the people need to recognize the dangers from the state. The presence of the state, for example, in Soviet Russia represents the ability to produce a strong stride towards progress under Lenin in the country or the stability of Fidel Castro with the maintenance of the appropriate security in the region. The demands of the people for the country represent a dangerous concept for the majority of the population until the people can control the actions of the governing entity in the region.

The October Revolution's 100th Anniversary Approaches with a Commemoration
« Reply #54 on: April 17, 2017, 02:58:16 AM »
The one hundredth anniversary of the October revolution approaches and continues to spark a number of important events around the world, and the event commemorates the actions of the Bolsheviks to liberate the Russians from the oppressive clutches of the nationalists after the fall of the czars in the February Revolution. The presence of the event also demonstrates a momentous action for the people through the creation of a new socialist government for the people until the death of Vladimir Lenin seven years later in 1924. The event commemorates the actions of the peoples' freedom fighters and demonstrates the commitment to the health of the population. While the revolution under Vladimir Lenin did possess blemishes, like any human endeavor, the majority of the policies from the revolution did create the necessary impetus to catalyze the transformation of the country into a regional and international superpower. The current cult of personality would likely disturb Lenin since he denounced the tendency of the people to develop a cult of personality around the leaders of a country in certain literature, but the event constitutes a necessary reminder of how the actions of a few individuals can change the world. The event continues to broadcast from a number of major media outlets.

A Mandatory 30 hour Work Week Without a Reduction in Take Home Pay
« Reply #55 on: April 19, 2017, 03:04:11 AM »
The newspaper "American Socialist" proclaims the worker's necessity to pursue the rights of the worker to develop the intellectual skills necessary to confront the economic demands of the country through the creation of a thirty hour work week (Nov. 1954). As the employers attempt to fructify the workers, the people need to recognize the importance of a mandatory reduction in the workweek as a vital step towards the critical transformation of the employment-labor relationship inside the country. The United States of America represents the single country developed country with the highest average number of hours worked per week. The continual application of the flexible workweek for the majority of the American Workers also, according to Joseph Grzwacz et al. of the Community, Work, and Family Journal (2008), represents a potential deleterious influence  on the ability of the worker to function in the confines of the environment (p. 200). The presence of the climate represents another attack by the corporations to enslave the workers through the refusal of hours unless the worker provides the maximum flexibility when the worker cannot provide the accommodation. The presence of the demands among the population constitute a reason to demand the decrease in the maximum workweek for the population until the people develop a healthy alternative for the actions in the population. What do you think about the creation of a thirty hour workweek with the same overall pay?

40 hours is a good number, to be honest.

The problem lies in the fact that a lot of folks are on 60+ hour work weeks, because they either are required to work, or need the money of overtime pay.

Where does Critical Thought Reside?: The Rise of Oppressive Consumerism
« Reply #59 on: May 05, 2017, 04:55:46 AM »
The presence of the demands inside the society to produce the consumer gadgets and brands results in the creation of a society where the individual experiences the attempts from the brutal corporations who impose a sociological conformity among the population. Since the majority of the population believes in the sterile gadgets as a "need," the people fail to realize the basic necessities inside life, and the continual blast of consumerism represents a direct threat to the entire world. Herbert Marcuse has discovered in the The One Dimensional Man (1964) the presence of the stupefying work of the population to consume the products in the corporations demonstrates the repulsive tendencies of the group to ignore the social control mechanisms of the product placement through the authoritarian conformity of the  population to the demands of the corporations (p. 44). Who wants to support an authoritarian aspects of society? The majority of the population in theory opposes authoritarians, but the majority of the population in the ignorance of the matter demonstrate the ability of the individual to support a cause without a conscious thought. The presence of the consumerism inside the confines of the society further determines the blatant manipulation of the American ideology among the consumers. A stereotypical example includes the individual who seeks to produce the appropriate selection of materials for the house expansion, or the individual who selects the perfect kitten breed to add to the collection of kittens in the house. What difference does the action produce in the life of the individual beyond a shallow egotistic satisfaction from the individual, and the expansion of the corporate influence as an influence in society. The presence of the obvious brand of selection influences the ideology of the individual into the belief about the ability to select a meaningful option from the corporations inside the society, but the reality resides in the absolute subjugation of the individual to the whims of the corporate bourgeoisie.
A question resides in the ability of the individual to determine the appropriate response against the affront on the critical thought of the individual. The continual barrage of consumerism in the western countries reduce the individual to a slave of the corporate culture where a few individuals control the media. The expansion of the media corporations and the subversion of the independent sources results in the phenomenon of a growth in the social uniformity of the country as Michael Newman (2005) mentioned in Socialism: A Very Short Introduction (p. 109),  and the creation of an international media empire where the corporations attempt to subvert the influence of the local activities in lieu of the major international efforts. Since the corporations continue to execute the exclusion of  independent thought among the majority of workers, the people need to recognize the inherent desire of the corporation to produce a loyal consumer. The presence of the desire to produce a loyal consumer subverts the entire notions of liberty because the concept of liberty requires the individual to produce the necessary thoughts to determine an appropriate action, and the suppression of the routes to express the thought includes a number of initiatives among the government to suppress the dissent. The activities of suppression include the active militarization of the police, the continual growth of the surveillance on the population, the interpenetration of the corporate media into every orifice of the person, and the complicity of the population with the rampant regime of the activities in the country. The presence of the complicity demonstrates the obvious disregard of the corporations for the natural liberties of the individual against the insidious influence of the corporations. The singular influence of the corporations and the government continues to influence the population through the subtle and overt oppression of independent and critical thoughts about the subject.

Summary: The corporations continue to influence the ideology of the group through the manipulation of the products and the consumerist ideology of the population due to an authoritarian influence on the population. The continual rebuttals from the corporations and the government against the population demonstrate the insidious influence of the executives and the leaders in the government positions who desire an absolute control of the population through the transformation of a want into a need for the population.

Our first challenge is to create an entire economic infrastructure, from top to bottom, out of whole cloth. No gradual evolution from previous economic systems is possible, because there is no previous economic system. Each interdependent piece must be materialized simultaneously and in perfect working order.. otherwise the system will crash out before it ever gets off the ground.
