These are reasons why I only get free stuff, cheap stuff, or stuff I can't get anywhere else for a reasonable price on the Kindle.

For instance, the Jeremy Irons Borgias TV series was canceled before they could wrap up the story. No final TV movie was allowed. So the producers put what would have been the final script for sale on the Kindle, and since I really wanted to know how it ended, I paid.

It's too bad this wasn't a possible solution for The Crow: Stairway to Heaven. They were greenlighted for a second season, but when a bunch of business deals happened, the new owners decided they didn't want to do an urban gothic series. So it ended with one of the characters jumping off a bridge and we never got to know what happened next.

Be philosophical - fans of the La Femme Nikita show got their last season after all, and boy, are they sorry...

Much as I like a complex tv series, I've been burned enough times  that I'm afraid to get emotionally invested in a story.

Sort of like a Charlie Brown with a busted tailbone who learned his lesson, I fear Lucy will pull the football as soon as I commit.

Tonight we were watching an episode of CBS's "Bluebloods". My wife said "you could see that coming from a mile away." I said, "Yeah, same was true with "Gunsmoke", but it was a very successful series. "Hawaii 5-0" is much the same. I can multi-task and not miss anything.

These days I'm invested in "The Black List" even though there's too much monotone murmuring in the dialogue for my ears. I should probably go closed captioned on it.

Given a choice, I always have captioning on.

I have a device that streams the sound from the TV directly into my hearing aids. Usually that works.

But if I can't see the mouths moving, and the audio mix is weak on dialogue, or the voices stay in certain frequencies, no amount of pausing and rewinding is going to help. Maybe we should try captions again.
