Caesar ain't gonna come into your church (synagogue, mosque, kingdom hall, whatever) and make your preacher (rabbi, etc.) do no marriages he don't want to.  People frame it as a religious issue, and are moderately stupid to do so - it has everything to do with what a lot of people/cultures find Other and distasteful, and very little to do with religion.

AND, for anyone who gives a poop about American Principals, framing it as religious is inherently a logical fallacy and an own goal; by Caesar's own rules, he may not legislate according to religious dictates.  Reckon that's where the conservative swing vote came from...

Having 2 members of my immediate family directly impacted by recent political decisions gives me some reason to celebrate.  My 'bonus mom' will finally become my stepmom and my mom can get insurance benefits from her.

You know what turned me around on my own prejudice against the homersexuals?  A dawning realization about some people I love.  It's that simple.  My cousin and a beloved friend/teacher who are pretty much closeted to this day - Jesus, they're people who are gay, not gay people.

That and a couple years' wrestling with it is all it took.  They're people.
