What kind of Game of the Month do you prefer?
« on: April 15, 2012, 10:24:29 AM »
There are a number of factors deciding the look and feel of a Game of the Month scenario. Some of them are the following.

1. Is it difficult or easy to win?

2. Is the map large or small?

3. Does it use original factions and/or artwork or is it modded?

4. Does it use features from SMAX or is it purely SMAC?

5. Is it serious in regards to custom factions and back story, or is it more of a light-hearted game?

6. The fiction which comes with the game - is it a short intro or more like a regular story (perhaps in several installments)?

7. Does it take a long time or a short time to play (this is, of course, heavily influenced by the answers to questions 1 and 2, but other factors come in as well)?

We'd like to know what you think, so please answer as many of these questions as you like, or share any other idea that pops up in your head!

by my modest point of view the responses to tour questions are

1. Is it difficult or easy to win? difficult to win, with many turns to play (i'm a player who upgrade the usual time of game to 3000 year, i prefer weeks to the same game than many shorts battle)

2. Is the map large or small? i usually set standard size

3. Does it use original factions and/or artwork or is it modded? innovetion are obviously appreciates, not all original factions have cool graphics (smac factions are so cool but smacx factions ...)

4. Does it use features from SMAX or is it purely SMAC? perhaps smacx offers a more articulate gameplay

5. Is it serious in regards to custom factions and back story, or is it more of a light-hearted game? new story upgrade the game interest

6. The fiction which comes with the game - is it a short intro or more like a regular story (perhaps in several installments)? i prefer high free to organize the game and the goal don't put limit to this

7. Does it take a long time or a short time to play (this is, of course, heavily influenced by the answers to questions 1 and 2, but other factors come in as well)? long time

idea : i'm not practice to speak & write, i just try to make me undersatand (like BUncle knows well ... i take this opportunity to thank you above all for your patience)

why you don't create a story and a scenario for my 7 custom factions (or part of them, though i posted only 3, these i can say the ''finished'', but finished is nothing)

No problem about the language. I'm impressed with the way you make yourself understood.

About your factions, we'll be happy to use them in a scenario or two. I'll PM you with questions about this (if it might spoil surprises for other players).

Learn to overcome the crass demands of flesh and bone, for they warp the matrix through which we perceive the world. Extend your awareness outward, beyond the self of body, to embrace the self of group and the self of humanity. The goals of the group and the greater race are transcendent, and to embrace them is to achieve enlightenment.
