Can ISIS be stopped/contained?
« on: December 16, 2015, 02:00:22 PM »
Been a week since our last "serious" topic, guess that means it's time for another.

I don't know that we have a full enough understanding of ISIS to really have a solution.

I know that I, myself, do not, but believe the best course is most likely not going to happen through traditional fighting.

Islam has been at war with the west (everyone really) since the religion was founded.
You cant negotiate with them with them their religion considers you an unbeliever
and ok to lie and deceive to you. Slavery is legal for them as is the rape of unbeliever women.
Just ask some of the women in Sweden and the girls of Rotherham in England.
For a large portion of European history people along the coasts and especially in the Balkans
had to worry about muslim slavers. Islam preaches violent jihad against anyone thats not  a muslim.
The crusades were defensive action the muslims attacked first. A moderate muslim is one that doesn't take his religion
seriously. Basically you deal with them like Charles Martel did or you get used to being a third class citizen in your own country.
General Pershing stopped muslims in this manner.

Quote
HOW TO STOP ISLAMIC TERRORISTS . . . it worked once in our History . . .

Once in US history an episode of Islamic terrorism was very quickly stopped. It happened in the Philippines about 1911, when Gen. John J. Pershing was in command of the garrison. There had been numerous Islamic terrorist attacks, so "Black Jack" told his boys to catch the perps and teach them a lesson.

Forced to dig their own graves, the terrorists were all tied to posts, execution style. The US soldiers then brought in pigs and slaughtered them, rubbing their bullets in the blood and fat. Thus, the terrorists were terrorized; they saw that they would be contaminated with hogs' blood. This would mean that they could not enter Heaven, even if they died as terrorist martyrs.

All but one was shot, their bodies dumped into the grave, and the hog guts dumped atop the bodies. The lone survivor was allowed to escape back to the terrorist camp and tell his brethren what happened to the others. This brought a stop to terrorism in the Philippines for the next 50 years.
Shia islam is a slightly different kettle of fish.
Sorry if its not politically correct but theirs no nice way to say it.

That's hearsay at best.

At any rate, such an act wouldn't even stop the supposed victims from entering heaven according to everything I've studied on the religion.

You do a disservice to yourself to lump all Islam together.

The bible preaches slavery, submission of women, and to kill anyone who tells you to worship another god as well.  Therefore all of Christianity must believe all those things as well, yes?

Well, Saudis, with all of their oil money don't have to work for a living. Some of them become professional students. Because it's the home of the Islam, and because people don't have to learn to do anything productive, holy schools have thrived. They're called Wahabis. From them has sprung the purist form of the religion. Fundamentalism. Perfection as only the Middle Ages knew, complete with slavery, amputations, and beheadings.

Which as vonbach has suggested, means that infidels like Christians and Jews are fit only for slavery and harems, although they could be taught the truth eventually and converted. Heretics, like all Shiites, and moderate Sunnis are to be put to death.

Well, in the chaos that ensued after we broke that unnatural country of  Iraq, a fundamentalist militia emerged, and one of it's leaders was an heir ( right now I can't remember if he's an heir of  The Prophet, or an heir of one of the four previous Caliphes.)  Once they controlled a city, the territory gave them credibility. The militia/rebels urged the heir, Al Bagdahdi, to declare the 5th Caliphate. This gave them religious legitimacy.

The restoration of the Caliphate means that perfect Medieval Islamic law is again in effect. It is now the duty of every Sunni to move to the Caliphate, breed as much as possible, and become a Holy Warrior. The Caliphate is not a country. It is a holy empire. It does not have diplomatic relations. It must go to war every year to increase the territory. It may agree to a cease-fire, but word given to infidels and heretics is not binding. It is the duty of every Muslim king and dictator to renounce their crown and turn over their lands to the Caliphate.

As long as the Caliphate holds territory it exists, and the Koran, etc. applies. This is why some Republicans like Ted Cruze talk about bombing it into oblivion. Thing is, the holy prophecies call for something like a dozen Caliphates, and we are only in the 5th one. So the faithful will gladly become martyrs, then others will restore another Caliphate, bringing the world one step closer to end times/Paradise on Earth.

Imagine if you will, that Jesus Christ appeared in Jerusalem today. That would present a problem for Christians and Jews all over the world. They would have to decide if he were authentic. They would have to decide if they were sincere about their faith. It might mean that they have to sell everything they owned, give the money to the poor, travel to Jerusalem and follow Him.

Today's Muslims are facing a similar life changing choice, only it's about going to war, rather than giving up material things. I think the long term answer lies in letting the Moslems start sorting  things out for themselves before we act. Getting involved in the Middle East will only continue the strife if we don't let everybody make the hard choices first. The way things have been, the Saudis can continue to support the Caliphate with cash and clerics while appearing to oppose it . They have it both ways now.

That has to end for a solution that is more than a quick fix.

Speaking specifically about ISIS, educate those who can or will be educated before they can get that deeply involved. Remove from the equation those who get past those attempts and become members or even supporters. Imprisonment of individuals, confiscation of real estate and sources of income, confrontation on the field when there is no diplomatic solution left. Never let down your guard or you will be stabbed, in the heart or in the back, whichever way you turn.
Two possibilities exist: Either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying. ― Arthur C. Clarke

You cant educate people out of ISIS. There is no such thing as radical islam, its just islam.
Its what the religion teaches. Jihad against the unbeliever until he submits.
Thats your choice fight or submit. Its the same choice we had down though the years
until we became stronger than they.

He held his arm too stiffly, and so was thrown back repeatedly, until at last I seized his forearm and snapped it back against itself. His training suffered while the arm healed, of course, but I felt this was a lesson he must learn early, and well.
