Multiplayer preferences
« on: September 05, 2015, 10:56:42 PM »
I've googled for hours and searched high and low for an answer, my preferences are all set to auto design, auto prune ect off, fast movement and battle resolution ect off, and everything works as it should in single player, but in TCP/IP multiplayer games, even with all the preferences changed it doesn't work, like the game automatically overrides my settings and won't let me change them. I might be imagining it but I'm sure i read it was a design decision and TCP/Directplay games override the settings to speed up gameplay, but I can't find the thread or website anywhere. I;ve scoured the alpha.txt and alphax.txt files for a setting to no avail, I can't work out if there's anything in the Alpha Centauri.ini to change it.

Could someone please shed some light if there is any way of turning off auto design and auto prune ext in directplay and tcp/ip multiplayer games and how to do so?

Many thanks

The Isle of the Deep is really not a single creature but a colony of thousands of individual tubules, an aquatic vector of the Mind Worm which terrorizes Planet's continents. Over its lifetime certain tubules secrete a tough, gluelike substance which hardens to form the characteristic shell that floats the colony and creates the appearance of a rogue island.
