The Comrades have a very good early game start as they can pump out units fast and have immediate access to formers. They tend to be average researchers but they are often not the most advanced faction. They can be a formidable opponent militarily as they can produce highly trained units cheaply and quickly and have been known to easily complete Secret Projects, and do very well in wars of attrition. They are somewhat vulnerable to probes, but overall they are quite a resilient faction. Their immunity to the penalties of Planned economics is also a nice boost and coupled with Democratic politics and Power they can have a near flawless society in terms of stats, and boom their population and have incredibly high efficiency. Or if they are in peace time, going knowledge isn't a bad idea either.

The Crimson Comrades are a faction created by JarlWolf in his first faction bundle, which included 5 factions total of which are the Crimson Comrades, The Imperium Crescint, The Valhallans and the Machine Mandate.

The Crimson Comrades ideologically are a relatively decentralized Socialist Confederacy with popular vote and a relatively Communist(following along the original Marxist lines, not Leninist, Maoist, Trotskyist and certainly not Stalinist) socioeconomic system and cultural mindset. Their society is very Communitarian in nature as well as militaristic: The culture of the Crimson Comrades and their mindset can be summed up as a militant revolutionary outlook combined with an idea of pioneering liberators.

Their government is relatively democratic, members of the People's council being representatives of each city. There is no real capitol city for the Crimson Comrades, but they often convene at Red Revolution, the first city.

Storywise the Crimson Comrades were founded by Vazheli Vatzev, who was the Chief Janitor on the Unity Starship program. He was one of the first to awaken from stasis and using his position as janitor he secured terraforming equipment for his faction. Initially Vazheli's faction was simply a mild Socialistic Communitarian faction, and they had landed on planet with the simple aim of building a society that focused on communal living and relative social equity. However the Manifold Usurpers led by Conqueror Marr changed all that when they subjected them to their repressive rule. The Usurpers immediately enslaved the local populaces, forcing them to work and became their new overlords. People who cooperated with the Usurper's found themselves well rewarded, and a small portion of the population became merchants under the employ of the Usurper's, to deal with other human factions as to ease relations with them. Vazheli and many of his followers became very embittered by both the Usurpers and collaborators, grew very angry and had managed to go underground. He gathered a strong following amongst his fellow colonists and other subjugated people and the spark of Communism was lit. In the face of ever present danger of slavery they embraced the ideal to rally their people, and with a new found zeal and coordinated, highly motivated guerrilla attacks and warfare, they managed to oust the Usurpers and their parasitical allies and free themselves. The faction was devoted to the revolutionary ideals of Communism, to liberate the people of Planet and continue the war on Tyranny.

Critics of the faction have noted the Comrades tend to be ruthless and somewhat unconventional in combat, as well as generally barbaric. The Crimson Comrades and their supporters have been noted to have hoisted the heads of enemy commanders on pikes and to have lynched merchants who were under the employ of the Usurpers, and other bourgeois individuals in the Usurper's payroll and other factions, and have been noted to do mass executions of captured enemy officers.

The Comrades are also criticized for encouraging bloody revolts amongst populaces, revolts that often end up in the death of a large percentage of participants. _____________________________________________________________________

In terms of Gameplay the Comrades have been qouted by Green1 to have been more fearsome then the Spartan Federation in military might, and have also been noted to be "Like the Spartan military without the resource penalties and have an economy like Diedre."

The Comrades have a very good early game start as they can pump out units fast and have immediate access to formers.

They are also claimed to be the favourite faction of JarlWolf, and have featured in multiple AARAfter Action Report's, including Varshavianka, The Peoples War by JarlWolf, AAR 4: Something Different by Green1, and Ete's Powergaming AAR.
