Kyrub's patch builds on Scient's 2010 patch and attempts to improve Alpha Centauri's AI and, in particular, the AI's terraforming performance. The patch has been in development on and off since its release in 2011.

There are two versions of this patch:

  • Kyrub's SMACSid Meier's Alpha Centauri_444_experiment for SMAC
  • Kyrub's SMAXSid Meier's Alien Crossfire (Cross = X) patch PLUS for SMAX

The SMAX patch lacks many of the features of the SMAC patch and does not appear to be actively maintained (2014).

New versions of the patch are announced via the Chiron News Network and all versions are available in the patches download section.
