When selecting an [[Heavy Artillery|artillery]] unit (including a [[Spore Launcher]]) on a sea transport unit (units being transported by air units are un-selectable in flight), pressing ‘F’ or choosing ‘Long Range Fire’ from the ‘Action’ menu brings up the script message:

Ground units may not bombard from the sea.
</blockquote>

And you cannot bombard. However, right-clicking on a target includes long range fire on the menu and you can bombard.

The AI uses this ability for Spore Launchers bombarding from [[Isles of the Deep]].
