OH - and Jim Shooter found the Legion of Super Heroes a crappy dumb thing aimed at kids in the 60s -while himself just 14 when he became writer- and left it the Greatest Super-Team Around it still was decades later when DC drove it into the ground over-thinking it.

I gather the Legion is due/in the works for a revival, just lately.  Long Live The Legion, Mr. Shooter, and thanks.  :salute:

Well, the latest Superman looks to be a hit, a big one, and I have quibbles w/ some details of the movie, but have thought for a long time now that the attitude displayed in a year of two of prepublicity was EXcellent.  Superman is the WRONG character for dark takes.  Period.

-And a big thank you to James Gunn, for showing the world that this is not the TIME for dark takes in escapist fictions.  Showbidness will follow the money, like always, and that's great news for ALL nerd genre stuff after decades of dark.

The Fantastic Four coming in two weeks looks to be same.  I look forward to seeing both, eventually.

I am ... not cautiously optimistic really, but not outright pessimistic, concerning Incredibles 3.  I am willing to reserve judgment about Spider-verse 3, though #2 made some seriously questionable choices IMO.  Those are the only two capey things I follow.

Spiderverse is animated, isn't it?  I've seen clips that I think is that, that seemed pretty good...

Spider-verse is extremely inventive animation of a style that's hard to describe, beyond "not suited for those with epilepsy or migraines."  Very fast-cut, lots of flickering, visually quite busy, but gorgeous and unique.  The first one is IMO better as a film, even though it plays it safer dramatically and has a key moment that doesn't land the way it's meant to.  With the second one, it gets a little TOO visually frenetic, so that it can be hard to track, like certain action movies from the first decade of this century.  Also there's a major plot device in the second one that's immersion-killing and frankly quite stupid.

Limits to what I can discern from a few clips, but they seemed semi-well written...

Superman was indeed GOOD.

I think the best Lex Luthor ever put to screen.  As in just let him chew scenes up and I’m happy good.  LOVED Luthor.

There’s one little detail they changed for this version of supes (maybe from a comic I’m far from a dc fan) that had better get explored further with the supergirl movie coming.

I believe Planet will talk to us if we are willing to listen. These fungal stalks behave as multistate relays: taken together, the neural net connectivity must be staggering. Can a planet be said to have achieved sentience?
