Speaking of random crap...
Has it been too dry for the plague of slugs this year?

I...pulled the equivalent of nuke them from orbit. 

When I harvested last year, we removed ALL vegetable matter from the garden, and spread a biodegradable slug bait that would stay for 3 months before breaking down.  2 weeks later, I tilled, disrupting any hiding places and re-baited.  Then left that for another 3 weeks before doing our normal compost routine for the year.   

Then when I tilled our sheet compost in at the start of spring, I seeded nematodes that are known to parasitize slugs. 

I haven't seen a single slug this year. 

That's what happens when you eat my pumpkins.

Yeah, that sounds like a scorched Earth policy. Well, if it's as dry as they say, I'm guessing mildew is less of an issue, too.

Does it look like a great crop?

We've been wet and humid since mid July, and it's not good on the pumpkins.  Probably be harvesting the mini ones in a week or two.
