Uno, are there any large JoAnne's outlets in Spookyville or nearby?  I was just in one, and there were not-terrible skulls and skeletons on the Halloween isle near the front...

I haven't been in one since getting in with the management of the local craft shop.  How much $?

hm, don't see anything in their online section.  Don't suppose you would know which model of skeletons either...but I'm guessing since you said decent it's not a blucky.  Which leaves odds on either wally or PoseNStay.

Pose N Stays are out of the same mold, but are a heavier cast and have bolts through the joints for much better durability.

I didn't pay NEARLY as much attention as you wish - I'd just been coping with the Walmart pharmacy and was tired.  Just noted some less-than-usually pathetic Halloween junk and thought of you.  3D and looked somewhat substantial, and lifesize, or not way off.

Well, wired up the motor and built the shaft for a grave.  Probably build the prototype tomorrow and see if these chinese knockoff motors are going to cut it or not.

You guys would enjoy if I posted about my big April-May RL project, turning the mess of carolina moonseed that grew in Mylochka's back yard as a weed into an ornamental vine, wouldn't you?  I took pictures of my progress, and everything...

Texans are a bunch of reactionaries, but they're a YARD-APE sort of conservatives, and they LOVE Halloween.

Oh, no, Utah has one of the more vibrant Halloween communities around from what I can gather.  Probably top 10.  Could be they were all sold out of anything useful already.  You know those skeletons I bought earlier this year...yeah, they sold out in a day and are being scalped at twice the price here in the local classifieds.  I was just in the right place/right time, and grabbed them despite not having any use for them this year. 

Well, first working prop since April.  Got the grave prototype going, needs some painting and stuff, but won't get to that till we get back from the mouse.  Ironically, it looks LOADS better in person than I can get it to video.  No idea why.  Going to do some candlelight looking later.

Chompy hatched today, the neighbors come over while I was working on the grave, and we took him out and let him crawl all over their kids.  They've been thrilled having him.  Then, off he flew.  (another boy, yes) 

"He was a good butterfly."  -their 2 year old. 

"Ew" - on seeing Fred out front. 

"That's a good monster" - on seeing the Chimera. 


It's really been a good weekend for me overall.  Hard, but good.  I needed it.
