Just before the crash your manage to gather you people (or at least most of them) kick out any stranger who might be spies and take over some pod to save you self.
After landing you know you have some time to prepare your self before meeting the others. This world is not that big, maybe not big enough for every one, so you have to make sure youre people will not be the onces to be kicked out...actualy from here...there is not out...
