Title: Santiago graphics doesn't load properly in MP
Post by: Kirov on October 22, 2013, 10:20:41 PM
For a long time I thought it's Iniswap's fault, but now I discovered it is triggered also without it. Whenever I load an MP save as the Spartans (i.e. with the Spartan graphics), their flags stop being white-against-black and become black-and-black. I can't see a base population if it's not empty (and if it is, the base flag is translucent), and I see only orders on units which are already the given turn. Any idea what gives? It's really annoying, mainly for those invisible unit orders.

Hmm.  The Spartans are special - the only faction with white-on-black flags.  They're the only faction that CAN do that - to get the same effect with a custom faction, you have to tell the game it's the Spartans, i.e., name the files Spartan.txt, Spartan.pcx, etc.  It's something hardwired into the code, and that's surely informing your problem.

Have you tested if this happens in non-scenario MP games?  Since they don't have the other graphics bug, they might not have this one either, and if so that would help eventually track down what's going on.

What do you mean by 'non-scenario MP games'? Every PBEM game is created like a scenario, I'm not sure if I follow you here.

I don't think that's true; practically, people play PBEM games as scenarios in order to avoid a difficulty-related bug (which I intend to fix, though it's near the end of the short list), but it is entirely possible to create a non-scenario PBEM game just like it is for a non-scenario single-player game, and I'm wondering if the same thing happens there.
