Title: Patch intallation

I attempted to download Yitzi's latest patch, but when I replaced the terranx.exe, the game would no longer run. :mad: I then proceded to replace the modded.exe with the vanilla one, but it still wont load.  :mad:  :'( What am I doing wrong???

You are not the only one. When I went to replace my Alphax file and terranx files with Yitzi's most recent patch, my game no longer started. I imagine that it has something to with unexpected effects of changes that Yitzi made between the last version and this version.

I have made a post in Yitzi's unofficial SMAX Patch Version 2.3 about this issue. I am fairly certain he will get back to us once he logs on.

Since I've never installed this patch, I'll have to defer to Yitzi's expertise.

Ok, it's been solved.  To install the patch, you need to replace not only terranx.exe, but also alphax.txt and helpx.txt.  (If you've made changes to those files and don't want to overwrite them, it's sufficient for alphax.txt to replace the #RULES section, changing values to however you like them, and set the prerequisite for the Ascent to Transcendence to whatever you want it to be*, and for helpx.txt it's sufficient to add the two lines in #TECHHECK that I added.)  I'll try to make that clearer in the notes for the next version.  If that doesn't fix it, let me know and I'll see what else I can do.

*In the original, it was set to Threshold of Transcendence, but did not in fact require the prerequisite; my patch makes it require the prerequisite, so if you want the original style you should change the prerequisite to "None".
