Title: How can I get the SMAC soundtrack?
Post by: Kirov on July 05, 2013, 04:29:03 PM
It is not in the game files, isn't it? Is there any way to extract it or did someone do that already?

When I work, I usually do that to various game soundtracks, starcraft, fallout, homeworld and the like. And I noticed that I've never had the theme for SMAC. I know it sounds quite eerie, but still would try it. :) Any help?

Thanks for the links, mate, indeed there are some sound videos from SMAC, though I'm wondering how I can grab all of it, either in mp3 or in something I can convert to mp3 (so that I don't have to interrupt my work every 5 minutes to play another video). I have downloaded or found on yt a lot of complete OSTs to many great games, some of them indeed quite old. SMAC deserves better attention. But those are a start, cheers BU. ;)

I can rip the soundtrack for you by recording it in game: I just have to get a portion where there is no other game sounds interfering with it.

Edit: Just give me a bit of time, it'll take a bit to get all the possible soundtracks I can.

The CIV4-based mod Planetfall uses some recorded SMAC music.

I'd be most grateful. Other sounds can be simply switched off in the menu, can't they?

Do you think that SMAC includes several longer tracks or numerous short ones and often interchanged? I've never focused on it, I just liked that nice sound background, but now I miss it and I have no time for single player. :)
