Title: Is there a utility that can mirror a map for symmetry around the equator?

I would like to create a balanced 2 player dueling map.  Ideally, I would like the map to be mirrored at the equator, so both players get exactly the same terrain in every respect.  I would like to just create the northern half of the map, and have the southern half of the map being autocreated by reflection.

Does anyone know of any tool that can help with this?

Kilkakon and I suggested something very similar to this (http://alphacentauri2.info/index.php?topic=2283.0) back in October, 2012. There seems to have been almost no progress, however, but the suggestions are very closely related.

It'd be wonderful if this got somewhere.

If someone technical minded knew about what format map data were in, an external random map generator could be possible in theory.

That way the MP folks get balance, but the "eXploration" part of 4x is till there.

I've got other priorities at the moment, but when I finish those, if there's more demand for figuring out map data format than for patches, I'd probably be able to do that.

Just to be clear, I don't care so much about the autogeneration capability.  I would craft the top half of the map myself, as long as there was a way to perfectly reflect this to the bottom half of the map.
