A huge file containing 64 custom factions alleged to be everything from the defunct Network Node site, which was a SMAC(X) institution when it was still up.  Those who collect custom factions will recognize many, and many graphic bits that have been stolen repurposed in other custom factions, especially by modders who don't do art.  This is, in fact, an excellent source to steal build from, even for accomplished art modders.  Seriously, modders do that, and it's usually okay and no big deal.

All factions should be at least playable in SMAC.

Please would you mind explaining 7zip and how to extract 7zip archives?
I ask because I keep getting the error message:
Can not open file "...\NetworkNodeFactions.7z" as archive (... is the full path)

I really need to split it into two standard .zips and post that.  I hate it when someone forces an exotic format on me, and that sucker's too big, besides.

If I don't get to that soon enough for you, 7-Zip is a free download - you should be able to extract the file then, provided you didn't get a bad download.

Must have been something weird yesterday. I d/l'ed it 3 times and got the same message. I d/l'ed it a few minutes ago and it extracted perfectly. ??? Back to editing.

I had finally gotten them all about a month or so back. If 7zip cannot open them, it got screwed up enroute on the interwebs.

BTW.. FYI.. many of these have misspellings and may not work if you are playing an Alien faction against them without further modification.

Yeah; I'm not sure I ever actually played any of the NN factions, let alone modded any, but it's a distressingly common problem with really old factions - I've had to fix a few I did art for, just to get them to run.
Templates: 1: Printpage (default).
Sub templates: 4: init, print_above, main, print_below.
Language files: 4: index+Modifications.english (default), TopicRating/.english (default), PortaMx/PortaMx.english (default), OharaYTEmbed.english (default).
Style sheets: 0: .
Files included: 31 - 840KB. (show)
Queries used: 14.
