Simple premise. What are you listening to right now?

In the Hall of the Mountain King by Grieg
-
Classical music FM radio - I keep it turned down pretty quiet because I'm significantly hearing-impaired and don't like loud anything, and I don't pay much attention to the announcers, so not the fogiest what what I hear right now is called. I'll be back w/ name of the piece when it wraps, if they say again and I can make out what's said...
-
It was Elgar, but she said the name too fast...

The golf channel, but not by choice. He doesn't golf. Maybe he likes the scenery.

Now on BRIGADOON CAST ALBUM 1957, which turns to the be the version/exact one I had a copy of and memorized at 14, so lots better to sing along with, for the same timing I learned as a kid. However, my falsetto ain't what it used to be, so singing the soprano lady parts is a pretty bad strain - the high tenor parts I'm used to bringing down into my range from well longer ago than you've been alive, Syn, literally.
I'd have to refresh my memory of some lyrics first, but I could sing this whole album w/o embarrassing myself too badly. (Tommy's solos well, translated down to comfortable range, almost a high baritone [tenor voice is not as good as when a boy, either, but better than my current falsetto].) -Except a crowd would find the love duets pretty hilarious...

Pfff. For all you know, I'm an old fart! I shake my cane at thee.
-
You're substantially younger than 32. That didn't even take my buncle powers, or my scarey-good detective skills. -And we are talking about 39 tears ago I was singing along.

Time is a flat circle.

So is yo' head.

That's how you wanna do it, since you're editing out the "No longer available" crap anyway. ;nod

I don't edit it out. It goes away if you put a # at the end of the URL. :smug:

For most of the day, I listen to the fan in my office. It's only slightly maddening.

In case that's the case, lucky you. You don't have to listen to a beep tone in your ear throughout life.

Stop holding up a beeper to your ear then!

That's forklifts backing up he hears - he stopped picking them up to listen when his boss yelled at him, which he wasn't trying to hear.

;lol ;b;
A boss yelling at me??! Unheard of!!! :D

Try harder to listen, m'man.
Syn - it was all in Dutch, too, the beeping, because they're not real people, only furriners, just like you. ;nod

The sounds of lawn maintenance (there's residential next to our office building). Sounds like they have the wood chipper fired up. Also, coworkers are abnormally silent at the moment. If they were toddlers, I'd be gravely concerned.

-Also, Fun Fact: I actually made Maniac's acquaintance, originally, when he told me to un-Belgium the background of a custom faction leaderhead I'd made out of a portrait of a general on a WWII Time cover, and made a crack about it being "less-sprouty now" when I posted the revision - and then realized it said Ghent in his postbit and PMed an apology, which he poo-pooed, to his credit.
-In honor of the occasion, I will next go for a triple-post -stupid to have a rule against, full-stop- and post the Monty Python "Prejudice" show skit for y'all to listen to...

Prejudice (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knwwgZNeIpA#)
-Maniac didn't know about this, IIRC, and loved it.

The Preacher and the Slave
The song satirizes the Christian music of the 19th and 20th century through the creation of an working class spirit on the matter. The rebellious spirit of the cover spills into the content.
Warning: The task may contain a slightly offensive satire of the Christian hymn "In the Sweet By-and-By" with a number of potentially offensive lyrics about the religious organizations from the modern perspective.

The video tells a tale of the American socialist activity.
Warning: The other government might tackle the issue of the song in an aggressive manner.

I did, and I didn't. I knew what it was about, but I couldn't recall the poem, or the author or his nationality. Pondered it for a while until I had to Google it.
I haven't listened to music while I compute since the kittens chewed my earphones. While driving today I was listening to Bluesville on satellite radio. I think B.B. King's "Help the Poor" was the only song I recognized.
-
My wife and I went to see and hear Kenny Wayne Sheppard play at the old opera house Sunday. A lot of virtuosity.

Though the new album is mostly remixes of their own stuff and a couple covers.

Haiduk - Sea of Fire

These days it's still XM Radio Bluesville station in the car. If I'm on a road trip with my wife it's usually the classic rock station. Sometimes it's a news channel if there's a developing story.
In the kitchen I play Amazon's Vocal Jazz "station". If I don't like one of the song's I just tell Alexa to "skip this song"
In the bedroom I play ocean sounds. For the record I have never had a tv in my bedroom in my life, with the exception of motel rooms.

First I thought it was the token guy in the band, but listening up to the second half I see why he's in.
-
I'm actually curious if the skull Igil-ish instrument is real or prop.
I know electric guitars don't really use the body as a resonator, it's all in the pick-ups, and this looks like it might be similar concept.
This band is real hit or miss for me on their works...
-
The instrument with the two snares? Or the one with the cow/buffalo skull?
To me they come over as a Siberian version of the band Pussy Riot.
-
The cow skull. Pretty sure it's an Igil like instrument. 2 stringed frettless played with bow. I only really know of IT from The Hu though, so it may descend from something else.
