Title: Age of Nations
Post by: Buster's Uncle on May 30, 2016, 02:36:18 AM
Before Polycast, before Modcast, before whatever they call that third thing, and One More Turn is the sitcom?, there was Age of Nations, a work that will tower through the ages as embarrassing to even watch from the mind of Dan Q.  More astonishingly toxic than promo spam wallpapering a slow subforum and trying to tuber the root.

Express your inner self-hatred and actually watch this one-of-a-kind whatever-it-is.  Just click on the link.  You were warned:

And I luvs me some AoE, but to Nickelback?  -I just spoiled the plot of the following episode montage:

I'm told there was always a comment thread - and over a long season of AoN and at least seven promo/comment threads, two whole comments were made.

They missed a bet - should have lead with a topic for discussion like "Which ;lol was ;lol your ;lol favorite ;lol towel?"

The video and sound editing was well-done.  End of honest praise.

Like a drunk thread you started Friday night and don't remember Saturday morning, just truly embarrassing for everyone, and a part of the community's history you're going to be mad at me for enlightening you about. ;)

That is a complete blast from the past. Spending 15 minutes with it is a good way to see just how bad this was - especially now viewed a decade later.

It's also a pretty amazing showcase of how much one person can improve. Comparing AoN to Dan's later productions is indeed night and day, and I have to admit I admire the way Dan was able to maintain genuine enthusiasm for the production of AoN despite never getting any public feedback (at least as far as I'm aware). Although despite Dan's productions improving in literally every aspect later, I am not sure if these AoN towels can be forgiven.

Our new favorite newb, Solver, is too modest to mention his embarrassing roles in a few episodes.  He's in episode 114 for sure.  "I'm yust doing my job.  Go do yours!"  -It was a toweling achievement. ;nod

I might actually check that episode and confirm whether it could be me...

Somebody told me to do that joke - and hey, anybody gets to be the boss of me when they're right.

Welcome Solver! That's an interesting title you have.

...I don't remember giving him that, but it's so me it yelled at him on Skype for 16 minutes yesterday...

[blinks]

When I saw that just now, I DID offer to change "Absentee Landlord" to "Slum Lord" privately...

I believe this is the last episode.

Solver has identified himself -with chagrin and shame- as the dying chariot archer at 10:15, and I'm totally violating confidence to rat him out.  I challenge y'all to make out his dying words, the ham.
