I loved the X-Files growing up, but it got quite bad near the end. Honestly not sure why we're supposed to be looking forward to this.

because it doesn't star agent Dagnabit and that forgettable women, whassername?

A lot of that show rode on the odd charisma of the stars, because honestly; flying saucer conspiracies.

honestly; flying saucer conspiracies.
It definitely had some good execution, but boogermen & conspiracy stories - Spooky and Dr. Skull were carrying it, and it sucked w/o them.

Of course, it's a reunion movie or something; those DO suck every single time.

The first X-files movie was very good, in my opinion.
The second one, average, the X-files without ufo and aliens lacks something.
Miniseries with 4 episodes, so we may expect around 3 hrs.

I loved the X-Files until Mulder left. I watched for another season or so, then stopped.

Awhile back BBC America was showing it, but stopped after season 2, for some reason. I wonder if I have any episodes left on my TiVo, or if that was from before the crash. Maybe Amazon Prime has it?

- The truth is out there.

WAIT - is that Solver at the end?

I was sure the cancer would have gotten him by now.

I have mixed feelings about it after watching this trailer. Will probably need to see the whole miniseries...

Cigarette man was apparently killed in that helicopter attack in the last episode season 9. But was he? Maybe he escaped in the last second?

... Solver :) you got me for a moment, I almost wrote that here... :D

I actually asked Solver on Skype yesterday if he's excited.  -No response yet, so maybe the cancer did get him...

Ah - caught Solver awake this time.

The funniest part is how easily the conversation mutated into talking about Dick Cheney as a RL supervillain who fits ridiculously well into the X-Files universe.  It's tragic, TRAGIC that they'll not be foolhardy enough to actually go there...

Circumstances prevented me from seeing the entire series. Things are different now; maybe I'll watch it all before January.

SO - didn't this come and go already months ago?

I'm confident it being either very good at all or very bad at all would have resulted in webs geeks talking about it where I'd have tripped over - but it's hard to believe -HA!- it happened at all without webs geeks getting worked up.

Can anybody comment?

Um.  I watched...3 episodes?

Episode 1:

SUCKED ROYALLY.  Ok, it wasn't up my alley to begin with (I prefer the monster of the week to the alien BS), but everyone looked like they were uncomfortable, wooden.

Episode 2:

More alien BS.  Felt a little better, trying to get some themes going for the new series.  I don't particularly care for the route they had Mulder going down.  (it's not the aliens, it's the gubment!!!)

Episode 3:

Monster of the week show of the comedic variety.  Kind of a reverse werewolf thing, with a beast being forced to turn into a human.  Clever, well done, goofy, but I still couldn't bring myself to like Mulder.

These were watched back to back, and brought me up to speed at the time of watching.  I wasn't moved enough to set up the DVR, and haven't really had the free time since to look into it more (having moved on to other shows I prefer for background noise).
