Title: Moderator actions
Post by: Metaliturtle on July 20, 2015, 12:03:16 AM
If a moderator is going to change my avatar without my permission I really should be able to do the same to them or at least they should pay for that in EC..  Only fair.

MODERATOR ACTION:  AFTER CAREFUL DELIBERATION, THE ADMINISTRATION CONCLUDES THAT YOU SUCK, JOKEMONKEY.  CHANGE YOUR OWN AVATAR YOURSELF.

P.S. I HAVE NERDBADGE AND YOU DON'T.

Just speaking to fairness, understanding the rules, something that should be good for a forum.  This sets precedent.

I am reporting you to the moderator for slightly funny yet potentially offensive posts :P.

As a general rule, it's rather bad form for moderators to be changing PERSONAL settings, such as avatars, unless there is a clear violation with said setting.  (suchs as a big profanity for an avatar, yes, I've seen that done)

This, also my personal text keeps getting changed.

Then change it.

You guys are being boring (Uno) and/or trolling (SpamThing).  :P

(Stuff the victim can't change back themselves is entirely another matter, but not at issue in this case.)

I'm waiting for Dio to report loud hat guy...

Even having it changed until they change it back is inconvenient, and you really shouldn't do it unless you know they won't really mind.

I don't.

Do I do stuff like that to mess with you?  Uno?  Anyone I'm not pretty confident will take it well?

No, I did it to Gamera and he's (counter)trolling, so everyone else stop bumping this killjoy thread, thank you. ;nod

As a general rule, I'm against an "it's ok to do it to this person, but not that" philosophy in moderating.  Set rules, no tolerance to violations across the board.  But, we've had that discussion elsewhere.

And, that SAID, I tend to be slow to whip out the banhammer and try diplomacy first, and have managed to "moderate" things here without using POWAS! (which I don't have) just fine in the past by reigning in problems back to a topic.

Besides, no one wants me to flip on my troll switch.  It's buried pretty far these days.  For long enough few here have seen it.

I remember when someone flipped their lid and left a forum and plotted revenge for years at another forum because of a perceived moderation unfairness.

Just sayin'.

How can I possibly have neglected to have installed a ;bored smilie for this long?

Please take a hint, gentlemen; I already asked nice, and that should be enough.

*points to others asking YOU nicely to stop and where you then mocked them*

I would not allow another member to take this crap, I made it VERY CLEAR hours ago that I wasn't cool with having this boorish conversation, and if you creeps are going to take advantage of my position to pee in my face, I just as well do my job and step on it before I start circumventing the swear filter.

Taylor Swift posts mean Shut Up please Now (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=nfWlot6h_JM#)

Everyone who posted in this thread more than once is a fool, and I do not except myself.

---

EDIT: Having enforced a cooling-of period for 24 hours, I now unlock this thread.

Speaking personally, I will take bumping this [poop] as -once again as when the last time the same set of usual suspects kept going after I made it clear I was pissed- a personal affront.

Trying it again after you must have found the results so satisfying ;sarc is the very definition of dumb.

Speaking as Teh Man -and I intensely resent being forced to do so- members who cannot find it in them to lay off when another member has already asked twice are going to get vacations.  In my case, since it would be utterly foolish -and not in small part hypocritical- to have a Lèse-majesté rule like some places do -to the contrary, I have to put up with more than anyone else because of my position- you get three chances from now on even with me - a standard that Dale violated with that last post.

I'm going to post this rule in the Site Rules thread, and you test AC2 management on it at your peril.  Watch the consistency in action, Uno, and all of you need to think HARD about a more diplomatic way to challenge me next time, as pissing me off on purpose IS STUPID unless you like me all sullen and rude.  I certainly don't.

I don't want to ever see this thread topped again, personally, even if someone sane/capable of listening/mature/delightfully sycophantic would like to take my part.
