Title: Art Tutorials
Post by: Mylochka on March 05, 2015, 02:39:41 AM
BU has been encouraging me to post some of my art tutorials here.  They are directed towards 3d graphics artists, but he assures me that they might be of interest to folks interested in modifying other sorts of images in Photoshop or Gimp.

Here is the first:

(BU, please feel free to change this to whatever kind of embedding you feel is best)

Ooops!  Not having much luck with cut and paste today...

BU -- would you remove the copy of the image that I accidentally linked?  It's not one of my creations.  It's part of a skin texture for a model I purchased.  Posting it here, even accidentally, puts me in violation of copyright.

Will watch when I get a chance.  Thank you.

Here's the second installment -- which is really just a re-iteration of what I covered in the first tutorial.  A commenter complained that I had gone too fast... and since I didn't feel I could really go any slower, I decided that it might help that person to watch me do virtually the same thing with a different picture....

Strikes me funny that we've both ended up doing so many computer art tutorials independently...

The following is not a tutorial per se.  It's just a process video.  I like to watch "speed paint" videos and thought maybe other people who do computer rendering would like to watch how I create the postwork for my renders.

Here's another one that is an actual tutorial -- a little, simple special effects work...

This time not a tutorial at all -- just a showcase of pictures I've done of Andorians.

Sorry for not having a look and commenting earlier, but I'm a crappy audience before I wake up, and I'm drugged out today.

Well you know what I think of the small-nosed pouty-lipped face model and you know what I say about your virtuosity at making classy cheesecake appealing to pasty-white nerdz straight men, so take those as read.  I notice that one of your other faces looks a bit like you 20 years ago, which is weird, but still pretty.

You could get good reactions with all the shots posted as stills in the Star Trek or Valjiir threads... ;b; ;b;

Mart - this is an example of her making a decent video, if not one trying to impress with the video-making.

The Andorian video was really made very, very simply using a "theme" preset in Windows Movie Maker.  Movie Maker comes with every pc that uses Windows... or at least it has with all the versions I'm familiar with... Macs come with a movie maker program that has even more fancy features and that will pretty much create the whole thing for you and fix you a nice cup of coffee while you wait.. Or so Mac users tell me...

...They don't mention that most of them misuse the tools and ruin the vids showing off, do they?...
