Title: Upgrading Units
Post by: PlotinusRedux on December 31, 2014, 07:57:23 AM
So, I haven't actually finished a game since I started playing again--I've spent most of my time on my patch.

I'm about half way through my first game now, and I'm finding it painful to manage upgrading units.  The best way I've found is to open the workshop and scroll left through all the models at the bottom until I find one that active > 0.  Is there really no easier way to do this?  If not, that's going to the top of my priority list for UI improvements.

I like to say, "There's got to be a better way." The Design Workshop is a PITA. Especially when you want to retire obsolete unit types: the slot becomes active again, so you jump back to the active side and have to scroll back to the obsolete units to retire the next type.

If there were a button to select active or obsolete and jump there, that would help. (In the middle of each section would save scrolling.) I would like if you retired a unit, the active selection would go to an obsolete slot on either side of that retired one. I nearly always retire a unit type with no existing units, and I would like to stay in that area to retire more than one type if they're there.

Or maybe I'm thinking too small? What if there were a way to see more of your units at once? Even all of them? That would save scrolling. (Of course I have no idea if it's possible.)
