Title: Why do factions hate me when i am using their preferred SE?

Ive noticed that Lal, of all people, is surprisingly a warmonger.

Im using demo, i meet Lal, and the first thing he does is try and extort me (he was already at seething). Neither of us are in the top player spot (im doing worse than him actually) and im not friends with any of his enemies. Yet hes already at seething for some reason?

I also cant work with caretakers because they are always at seething for some odd reason, even if i try and help them vs usurpers.

I'd say it's normal behavior if the AI "thinks" it has an advantage over you.

Declaring vendetta on sight and never dropping it?   I get that more often with Santi, but sometimes Lal - sometimes both.  It's something in the Crossfire AI, I think, 'cause I didn't get that every game until I upgraded from vanilla.
