So, is 31 going to be the final episode? If it is, I think I'll miss the story... *sniff*I hope tht it's a big one. Maybe 9 parts or so. One general build up section, then one section on each faction followed by a final round-up. Whatever they do, I think they'll just go up to the launch of the landing pods. Since some won't make it (I'm assuming you CAN play a game with fewer than 7 factions) I doubt we'll see them all land okay in the story. I do hope they resolve the question of "What happens to Capt. Garland?"

I doubt that this story will be the last, there's too much remaining to happen, and too much for Mike to write in the time alloted. Unless that 'soon' means he's taking extra time to write something really long... but I would hope that it's going to continue for a while, maybe even up till the release of the game. |

Gord .. I was hoping it to continue until the game comes out too !!!CClark !!! Don't you know by now !!! Captain Garland stages his own death so he can stay behind to save the remaining crew (Canadians) in the not so damaged 8th Cryo bay !!! Hence the 8th Faction !!! Just check out the 8th Faction Threads for more details !!! |

Why are some of you so obsessed that there will be a "canadian" faction? |

I have the feeling episide 31 will be the last episode. The reason for the "soon" is of course that it will be released at the same time as the demo. there isn't really much more that needs to happen - they go to their pods and land on Planet. End story. |

ah, I think the Canadians are just jealous because almost nobody uses Canadians as sci-fi characters... Or they could be overcompensating for soomething... ( dollar envy?) Advinius Longinus Aurelius, The Director General. P.S.= just in case I need to actually say this: i'm joking people!

No, he just thinks we haven't heard him mention the 8th faction in EVERY thread, so he feels the need to make us know about a conspiracy we've already known about since, whenever the hell he started it.Political parties suck. Thank you. Your faithful & hell-bent NIMadier general, YYYH |

Centaurion - it's a very long history. Basically, back around episode 10 or so, there was a petition started to make Godwinson a Canadian. Somebody (it wasn't DJ, but I can't recall who it was) thought that Cananda should be represented in a faction bio. Some of us Canucks didn't think that Godwinson should be a Canuck because we don't really have any religous "extremists" up here like they do int he US Bible belt.Anyway, the petition then changed to have Garland be a Canadian. And yes, DG, it's mainly because Canada gets ignored in Sci-Fi (and everything else). |

My guess is that Garland is killed by Santiago or one of her people and that is how she gets a landing pod.P.S. the people who are obsessed with the 8th faction need to get over it and grow up. |

Oh yes. They're coming out of the woodwork now that the demo looms. Daboo, you just don't get it do you? Let them have their little bit of fun saying about the secret Canadian 8th faction.CCLark, I assume that they will assume that all 7 pods made it for the "official" history of what happened. Sure, when we get the game, we can assume some pods got burned up, crashed, were deflected into space, and start with fewer than 7, but the "real" way involves 7 factions I think. |

And to repeat an earlier rant: The people better get to choose what faction they want. Otherwise the whole premise for why these factions are so extreme, because they're only the 14.3% most (community minded-Hive, enviormentaly aware-Gaia, capatalistic-Morgan, etc.) of Earth's population. A normal sample of Earth's population would probably revolt in Yang's Hive, too high a percentage of them would be used to self-determination and democratic ideals and not willing to submerge them "for the good of the state." |
