How about the Fighting Mindworms? Would they play against teams from other factions? The rivalries could get VERY intense!"Whomp'em Worms!!!"

WHAT!?! The pencil-necked UoPers have a football team?!?I'd say that the Spartans would win this one every time. |

Upon further investigation, the commisioner of the league fines Imran 1,000,000 energy credits, revokes the title, and bans the Spartans for play for one year !!!On top of that, no member of the current Spartan team will ever be nominated for the Hall-Of-Fame !!! Justice will prevail !!! Of Course, the 8th Faction team will woop all your butts collectively !!! |

Then again, commisioner of the league realizes Canadians suck at football and plays the 8th faction against the 10th. Of course, the 10th triumphs because they play "real" Football (well if you forget about that dirty land mass called Europe)."Imran passes to YYYH in the end zone, TOUCHDOWN, 10th!!, and they win the game 52-3." "The 10th are the Chiron champs!!" Imran Siddiqui Head of 10th Faction:the Americans PS, maybe Frank did mean the other football and with our baises we assumed he meant "AMERICAN" football. Oh well, we still win. |

That reminds me Imran. Wasn't the American team planning on making it to the World Cup finals? What happened? As far as American vs. Canadian football, I'll stick with the one where there's no pansy fourth down that let's the teams make little 2 and 3 yard plays for the entire damned game. Throw a pass, run 40 yards! Make me care, dammit! |

Zan, I'll stick with the real-time North American football. The one with the best players, by far. The one with much more viewers and the one where the star player for the other league wanted to play in for his whole life(Flutie anyone?). The one whos championship is broadcast around the globe.Btw, name the last time Canada beat the US in soccer, beacuse it hasn't been anytime soon. Also take a look at the FIFA world rankings, the US are in the top 20, Canada? Lets just say, they are not. Imran Siddiqui |

Imran the FIFA world rankings are ridiculous, unfortunately I don't think they support your case. |

Actually I had American rules College football in mind when I started this thread. Although given that 6 of the seven faction leaders are not US citizens, a different sport might be more popular. Man does not live by military/economic/political conflict alone... What kind of sport do you think they watch on weekend afternoons on Chiron? (American football, soccer, calvin-ball, rugby, trained dogs herding mind words from one pen to another? ) |

Imran, you have more viewers because you have more people.By the time Flutie left, most Canadians were tired of his incessant whining anyhow. Almost noone was sorry to see him go. Every time that one of your QB's comes here (and it has happened) he goes home after a season or two, because he can't get used to the idea of throwing a 40+ yard pass on a regular basis and usually plays like that 4th down's going to come along and save his pansy ass. Never said the Canadian team made it, just said that the American team embarassed themselves with idiotic bragging, and never even noticed as the rest of the world laughed at them. |

Zan, Our SuperBowl is watched by 800 Million People, around the world. No one watched Canadian football, or the Grey Cup game!! Flutie was the best player you had up there, he is a legend in Canadian football. Anyway, the winning the World Cup thing was said by Alan Rothberg by 2010. Of course it was false, it was just meant to motivate the players. Unfortunetly it didn't work. The US team is better, than it showed in France. Now they have coach Bruce Arena, who has always been a winner (He led DC United to being the best team in the Western Hemisphere, and that is a US CLUB TEAM that is better than Mexican and South American Champions!!). The US has some of the best goalies in the world, and many new young players, who have a chance of elevating the US to better World Cup finishes. Lately they've been playing well.MikeH, congrats on Chelsea taking first plaec in the Premier League, but watch out for Aston Villa, Machester U, Leeds and Arsenal is not far back either! Later. Flutie was not the best player we had. He was a pansy who choked at the end of every important game he played. When his team needed him to come up with a game-saving rush a few years back, he fumbled the ball and pulled himself, complaining that his hands were cold!Okay, so people around the world watch the SuperBowl. People around the world watch Cheers. Your point is what, that American consumer culture television is pervasive? God, even when you admit that your not as good as you said you are, you say you are so. |

The UoP wouldn't bother with football! They've got better things to do then run around like a bunch of nethelanders, chasing a ball around a field. Only the feable brained Spartans would consider doing such a dumb activity. |

This almost reminds me of that 'France Won' thread I started in the Factions forum a while back, after France won, the World Cup. Venom & some other guy got into a debate on which type of football was better. MikeH & Venom also flooded my e-mail box with a bunch of posts from a spree of some sort. I never learn, do I??Your faithful & hell-bent NIMadier general, YYYH |
