Brian Reynolds post on Usenet--Guys the game HAS mastered!!! Brian also said he'll answer questions, but I guess that won't necessarily be here.

Wanted to let everyone know the good news-- Firaxis has "reached Alpha Centauri". We sent what we hope is the final master off to Origin last night; we have a week or so to repatch if we discover something embarrassing which we missed, but barring that we're gold.

Our demo should be up Xmas week; check it out.

Since I'm (ahhhh) no longer in a crunch, I'll also be happy to answer
any questions anyone has about the game.

Does this mean that we are going to see more Firaxis participation on this forum as well?

I predict that Firaxis will setup a new forum for the demo for questions and comments and play a more active roll on it (and primarily it).

People who have no life can't even keep up with the activity on the board how should Firaxis?
Maybe they could write some fancy software that monitors the board for new stuff and then sends it to a voice proggie to read it out loud so they could be productive while following the board.

Imran, don't worry, SMAC is the type of game where it won't make much of a difference !!!
