Mike Ely said in a past message that it was hard to sift through all posts in order to answer our questions. This thread is dedicated to you Firaxis! I propose we post messages to Firaxis here.Personally, I don't mind if the game comes late. When it comes, it comes. But, Firaxis, I am dissipointed from the lack of updates. Other teams, such as the one creating Baldur's Gate, keep the public informed. They give updates quite often and even participate in chat sessions.

Ahh, a fair proposal Paulo. I'm afraid it just won't happen though. We've been off-topic too long, & all Firaxis topics(SMAC, SMG, SMC[Chernobyl, remember that?]). But buck up my friend, the demo is comin' out in a few days, & this forum will be a lot more on-topic. I personally can't wait. I forget what it's like to be on-topic The again, this forum could always go more off-topic as the 10 year old losers come here & flame their asses off. Not to be discouraging PAolo, but I tried this already and it didn't work.If you go back a ways there is a thread called "Reasonable Questions for Firaxis". People did post reasonable questions about the game. But the thread was ignored. I think Firaxis has taken the tact of "out of sight, out of mind" and don't bother to check here anymore. On the one hand, I can't blame them, on the other hand I think that they should have maintained some kind of prescence here. |

CClark, we have absolutely no reason to believe that Firaxis has stopped reading the forums. Brother Greg has posted a wonderful explanation of why it's rediculous to believe that they have, so I won't go into that here. Just consider this, folks, Paulo in particular: Firaxis is not a giant company with resources up to their eyeballs. They are finishing off a game we're waiting eagerly for, and much as they might like to have someone here reading and replying to posts all the time, or keeping a presense, it requires time, and now more than ever for them, time means money. (And I'm sure they want to be able to go home and take a day or two off for the holidays, too.)They may not have enough staff to make it realistic to keep a presence on the forums and let us know about every little detail, and when you get right down to it, we don't really need to be hearing anything right now. There are some people speculating that the demo has been delayed, but that's *all* there is, and that speculation is completely unfounded. The scheduled date of delivery for the demo is December 20th, 1998. It is now December 17th. They have several more days to go before we need to start worrying. I for one would like to see them worrying more about getting the demo/game out, instead of posting here updating us every time someone gets a fearful thought about scheduling. |

They would have the resorces to post at LEAST 1 message per day... |

If they answer one, people will want answers to others, and not everyone would notice where that one answer went to. People will complain that Firaxis answered a thread nobody cared about, or nobody wanted info on, and it won't help in any way. |

I agree that FIRAXIS answering all of our posts is ridiculous, but I think an update on the main board every other week or something is not unreasonable.I guess it's water under the bridge now since the demo will be here soon. But for the next FIRAXIS game, I suggest more communication. |

LOL .. they'll be around a little more after the holidays, I'm sure !!! This whole subject is getting rather moot !!! The demo will be out in a few days, let's just be happy for that !!! We're all very frustrated now, but I have a feeling our patience will be well rewarded with an awsome game !!! |
