Jimbo, The BoS stands for the Brotherhood of Sid. Imran founded it, & I'm kind of his right hand man. We fight for democracy, & against CWAL(long story, have them explain). I could get into detail of our month+3 day history, but you'd be dumbfounded by the first mention of Tawdal.Your faithful & hell-bent NIMadier general, YYYH |

Yo-Yo you screwed that one. CWAL isn't our arch-enemy. ONLY the Hunt Valley subsection is hostile to us because we won't let them steal the SMAC beta.Anyhow while I'm a newbie ( and damn proud of it ) I do know of most of the recent happenings. And I don't make many typos |

Damn Jay, I forgot the HV part, we don't really mind the other CWALers, as long as they don't screw around here. We just don't like them trying to 'liberate' Sid's game. Now, for a correction, CWAL HV is our enemy, & I can't remember CWAL HV's exact webpage right now. Jay, can you? You seem to correct all my mistakes. Your faithful & hell-bent NIMadier general, YYYH |

Well the CWAL HV webpage is at www2.crosswinds.net/toronto/~fjorxc/cwal/index.htmAnd Jimbo, the CWAL stands for Can't Wait Any Longer. They tried to liberate StarCraft before it was finished. Now they are after StarCraft Expansion Disks, Worms:Armageddon and SMAC (Alpha Centauri for gods sake!). To be more specific, it is the Hunt Valley subsection that tries to "liberate" SMAC. They say that SMAC has been ready for half a year or so and that the holy FIRAXIS is holding its release just to piss me off. And the BoS is the glorious Brotherhood of Sid. Founder: Imran Siddiqui. If you want more info, ask Imran or go to our homepage. I think Yo-Yo already mentioned it. |

Jimbo, if you ask me, both groups are a bit full of themselves. I'd just stay neutral, like I have. Then you don't have to commit to a particular frame of mind.Frankly, Bos is more like a dictator - sure they tell us it is for our own good, but how do we REALLY know? And isn't it funny how Bos guards are stationed at all the strategic points? Hmmm? As for CWAL, they just seem like a bunch of deranged loonies (no offence), which makes it even harder to believe that we need Bos to protect us. So, I suggest sitting on the sideline for a while... |

Hi I'm back. I somehow got lost in the Nexus and I fell into an interdimesional rift and ended up in a Borg collective. They made us drones sit for hours in small rooms and they kept telling us to assimilate the data cores they were giving to us. We are the Borg... Information overload rerouting auxillary power to secondary systems (mmmmm good coffee...) Retrieving relavent data... SMAC SMAC SMAC, There was something important about this, must do further investagation. SMAC will be assimilated, resistance is futile. |

I believe I have now perhaps hit the third stage of SMACer posting evolution.I have been through the first stage, that of gradually increases posts as I became more engrossed in the SMAC forums. I have been through the second stage, that of enormous amounts of posts on a single day, perhaps contributing in a week's time, to a hundred posts and a significant portion of the overall posting for that time period. I believe I may now have entered into the third stage. The transition to the third stage is a long period where one has the time to post, but realizes that to place a *real* commitment in posting as you have done before would be too much trouble. The true entrance into the third stage it seems is when one finally evolves to a point where they only infrequently post material, secure that their place in SMAC-forum history has been established and that they can just sit back and comfortably wait for the release of the game. A constant murmur of light posting is done to keep up a medium appetite for SMAC. I am only beginning on this third stage however, and am not nearly as far along as the many greats who became third stage posters months ago. (perhaps a another form of third stage should be suggested for those like Yo_Yo_Yo_Hey, who continue to post at amazingly high frequencies, despite the time they have already spent. Perhaps these people just have not yet seen the enlightenment that is the third stage. . .). |

Actually, Arnelos, I have reached your stages and find that they can be trancended. I did not follow your pattern. I started as in the third stage, even though I was not yet assured of my place in SMAC. I gradually built up my posts, making space commentary. Then with the new forums a rebirth, I reached to the 2nd stage, posting immensly. I have, not to my recollection, been in the first stage. In the beginning I posted sparsely. So I have broken your mold. Imran Siddiqui |

Ah, but what you describe is exactly what I meant by the first stage. First stage people are those that post only infrequently. Only late in the first stage, do you truly begin to increase your post count until you truly enter the second stage, that of a rapid poster. Most people never leave the 1st stage, the one of initial infrequent posting. The first stage includes a transition to the second, involving an increasing post frequency. |
