Looks like a nice elaboration on how multiplayer will work, for the most part. And for the capitalists out there, you'll be happy to know they mention a "Wipe out Morgan Industries" scenario for multiplay. :P And also, definite word that there will be saved games in multiplay. |

Well, a very nice "little" update there. Like the ideas they have implemented for MP, can't wait to try them out. And YES, they kept transcendence is. YAY! |

I liked it. Thanks Spoe.Well, it revealed a bit more on multi-player, which was good because Firaxis has been pretty silent on that. Most of it I already knew though. I wonder if you could negotiate attacks with a human player, not just trades?? I wanna be able to plan joint attacks in some detail in a multi game. That way the Hive becomes an easier target. Looks like you can, YYYH:"Each person adds things (tech, energy, treaties, maps, commlinks, WAR PLANS) to the list of what they're offering."

Yeah, just chat with the people and tell them to move all their troops near the Hive border if they want a piece of the action, and Hive territory.I wonder if they willl let us chat before we have each other's commlink frequencies? |

I would suppose you could chat all you want but that you would need the commlink frequency to make formal alliances, etc. Besides, people could use ICQ or some chat mechanism outside the game even if chatting was prevented. |

BTW, WOW!, that was one of the most insightful bits of information I've seen in a long time. I LOVE the fact that you can trade just about any combination of items (techs, energy, etc.) in multiplayer. I'm sure some people may be disappointed by the "first to hit the key gets the square" though.I thing I was wondering about though was time stoppages during turns. Does diplomacy and other human interactions stop the turn clock? Does the clock stop only when the Council convenes? If so, then Firaxis has to make sure this couldn't get abused. Imagine someone saying, "You'd better take my offer or I'll keep calling your commlink and this turn will never end!" |

These diaries gave indeed good information. The scenarios sure will be fun, especiaaly getting rid of Morgan or Santiago, or the Hive. The diplomatic options seem good. I like the idea that you can trade money for techs. ( or have I hallucinated that). I found it l;acking in MOO2. Often i played a game with a friend. I played the psilon, and he played the gnolams. We had an arrangement that I sell him the techs. We always had to proceed through gifts, and it was long. |

Now I'm curious as to what Brian meant by "War Plans." It sounded like it would be an actual option to chose during diplomacy. To me that begs the question of if it will actually let you scrawl some arrows and text on a map screen and send that, or if it just opens a comm link to type them out. If it were the later, however, I don't see why they would add that actual text to the trading screen since people could just chat away under a normal diplomacy connection...Antiam |
