I noted that (and its uppercase counterpart) were missing too, but don't blame me. I just copied the ISO10646 codes straight from an example page.If you think the Russian (Cyrillic) alphabet is a pain, try Russian grammar :-) As for finding codepages, try "ControlPanel->Keyboard" in Windows. In the old DOS/Windows 3.x days it was specified in CONFIG.SYS. Nowadays, it's connected to the "input locale".

Russian Grammar is a problem not only for Foreign speakers, but also for native speakers. And DJ, how much russian did you have? 1 year? or just one of those learn russian yourself books? or was it long ago? cause if you were/are learning it for more then a year, your teacher should be fired. |

Hmm, I see there some mistakes in process... Really, russian grammar is much more simple than english (or we speak about different things? ) On russian you can simply read the letters and get the words - almost in every case (I know - I have teached two of my children to read - senior catch it in 4 years old, junior - in 5). But english... You write that letter THAT way, but you had to read it ANOTHER way, and if there is another letter near it, you read it THIRD way - oh my god...You wish all russian letters - catch them! wonder, what you'll get... |

LOL .. Sorry YYYH, you have many back to back posts yourself !!!Anyways, I just thought about asking right after I sent the message !!! LOL With my memory, that happens alot !!! Anyways, I took one 16 week course in Russian about 8-9 years ago now !!! I forgot almost everything, although, if I listen to a conversation, I'll catch a word here and there !!! |

DJ:In the earlier thread on Ascii codes, I showed how to print the entire (almost) Cyrillic/Russian alphabet. Try typing: Я It will (should) show up as: Я Spraschivayo russkaya yizik. (Sorry, I don't feel like typeing in Cyrillic letters manually, and I don't know the proper way to write it with the latin alphabet...) I took ~40 hours of Russian five years ago. All forgotten now. /Henrik |

Anderew:The grammar we are talking about, isn't how to read, but how to write. All the "padeжi" and ending of masculine and feminine words are the hardest thing to understand for an american. It's very close in grammar to German, but English has almost no grammar which corresponds.. |
