Well, as I have nothing better to say (The CapPun thread got too large before I managed to get a word in )...How do you pronounce 'Firaxis'? Most natural is FIRE-AXIS, but after some thought I think it should be FIR (like fur)- AXIS. :-)

I think it's fire-axis. That's just how I pronounce it. I read on the Firaxis page it was original name was something like Fire Axis. They combined it, & it became Firaxis, so I assume it keeps the same pronunciation.Your faithful & hell-bent NIMadier general, YYYH |

Very nice site Marian. Unfortunately it is finals week here and I can only connect to campus at 14.4 and lost patience with the download. Can you give me a clue where to find the real-audio? Downloads? Auf Deutsche? |

I mis-pronounce 99.9% of new words I see, especialy name of things. Simpely because I treat the word like on that I have seen before and as soon as I get the overall look of the word I just guess. I don;t go though it letter by letter, making sure that I'm saying it right. And no, I'm not dislexic |

Imran, you're right. Ok, if y'all want an explanation for the pronunciation, goto the FAQ at www.firaxis.com. The pronunciation is there!I'm saying it as fire-axis anyway, I think it sounds better, & I've been calling it that since I first discovered who they were! Originally I've misread the name as Fireaxis (in fact I used it in one of my earlier posts - I was very red when I realised it was in fact Firaxis). However, after correcting my spelling, I didn't reconsider the pronounciation, so Fire-axis just stuck in my mind. Hmm, I hope that Firaxis doesn't mind us mutilating their name :P Dushan |

I wrote it down, so that I wouldn't misspell it in a post. Even though I did a couple of times. |
