Once again I see those Spartan proponents out there saying that they embrace true freedoms. What logic is being used here? It's a military state, people! Wake up! How are soldiers trained? Their heads are shaved and they are trained to stand at strict, uniform attention, and march in unison. They are drilled to work together in perfect precision, like a well-oiled machine. Discipline is the heart of their society. Individual freedoms and liberty are NOT valued above all else! I think you Spartan supporters are seeing a society full of rednecks running around in pickup trucks, blowing up everything they see and horning down beers! Do you really think Santiago embraces that? After The Hive, the Spartans are the next most controlled society in the game! Gene Hackman said it best as a military man in Crimson Tide-- "We're here to preserve democracy, not to practice it." While the Spartans may uphold individuality and despise The Hive, there's certainly no room in their military society to practice freewheeling democracy and free speech! If you want to support the truly free faction in the game, go with The Morgan Conglomerate. They're all about freedom-- freedom ad nauseam!I suppose this post might seem insulting, but that's not my intention. It's just more "in your face" than my usual style. Anyway, flame away!

Santiago might play them as a military society, but I plan on playing them as a democracy, to counter their production disadvantage. Also so I can bash away at the Hive & not seem hypocritical Your faithful & pissed off(ICQ isn't working!) NIMadier general, YYYH |
