I say either Zakharov (I hope they change the name back soon) or Morgan. Possibly lal. or Miriam...What do you think? What would each one drink? We know Saratov drinks Vodka...

No, no, no, it's Skye. She's got a still set up in the greenhouse; why else do you think she spends so much time in there? ;> |

Drinking ahbits:Zakharov: vodka, we have it i the story Lal: His name says it all Santiago: She gotta be on all available psycho-pharmaceuticals, but no alc, I guess Deirdre: No alcohol, more smoking stuff... Morgan: Little alcohol, but high quality Miriam: Gets her kicks out of fanaticism - no alc required Yang: Keeping it all secret... Garland: From his leadership abilities, he gotta be under some kind of sedation... Me (though not aboard the unity, or am I ?): For the last two weeks I've been so sober, I could cry...

Zakharov - vodka (that's a given) Dierdre - seeing as how she'ssupposed to be Scottish, she must obviously drink Scotch! (And since alchol is a depressant, it would explain why she's always staring out the windows.) Lal - I'm guessing tea. Being a Peacekeeper and a doctor, he just doesn't strike me as the drinking kind. Yang - Saki or ginseng tea. (There's a stereotype, eh?) Morgan - Fine wines and champagne. Santiago - Hard liquors. I'm guessing JD (Jack Daniel's for those who don't know). Godwinson - coffee addict. Possibly with rum when she's having a bad go of it.Garland - definitely a beer man, right DJ RRebel? |

Everyone probably drinks like crazy, I mean what else is there to do when you're sat on a spaceship moving along quietly (sort of).

Everyone probably drinks nothing. Why should anyone put any supply of booze on the Unity? They are scheduled to sleep the whole time till the arrival and then they should be busy with the landing and the biulding of a colony.Gilgamesch |

Well, building can be tough work, especially on a new world, with no breathable atmosphere. I figure they would want the alcohol on board so they could keep the workers stress low, & maybe make the people a wee bit happier. With all that stuff happening on board Unity right now, I would probably be getting wasted out of my mind!! Go and read Holdeman's "Forever War". If on Unity board is sugar in any form, there would be alcohol - sooner or later. It is no problem to make still and produce strong liquor or make some light sweet wine using only two glass bottles and one rubber pipe... |

It'll be one of their top priorities when they get to Chiron, I'm sure of that. |

Considering beer and wine are two of the earliest produce archaeologists have found (barring the pots they were in, of course... ), it's safe to assume it would be on Chiron in no time at all. |

Yeah, it'll be over. Coke & Pepsi will be replaced by a cheaper synth-coke & synth pepsi, & then those two will start a new battle over which is better. Your faithful & hell-bent NIMadier general, YYYH |

Coke will be better than Pepsi everywhere! Low-G, High-G normal-G, everywhere. Even in No-G Coke will triumph over the evil hive like nature of Pepsi! They used the Spice Girls in a commericial for crying out loud! You can't speak to highly of a company the uses the Spice Girls in its commercials! That's why Coke rocks!Garland drinks most on the Unity. Who wouldn't with all those crazy bastards on board! Your faithful & hell-bent NIMadier general, YYYH |

It's not backwards, just upside down. Speaking of Pepsi and spacetravle. There has been a light add campaign by Pepsi, for a competition. Apparently you can win a trip into space. Now call me old fasioned, but isn't space travel only for those relay fit guys who can withstand extreme g-forces. And sending someone to space is a bit odd for a competition. PS I don;t see coke doing any stuff like that! |

Actually, I think most of the SERIOUS drinking is being done by the natives of the planet. After all, if a shipload of homicidal fanatics was roaring toward OUR planet at an appreciable fraction of the speed of light, what would WE do? |
