Yes, they are. Their strategies are subtile, but very, very effecient. Yes, this means you, Maya and DJ RRebel.
First, I started to have that feeling I gotta get quotes - lots of them. With every quote I'd use, I'd lose a part of my identity.
Then, I felt the urge to use multiple exclamation marks - and LOL, ROTFLMAO etc etc. Thanks, DJ!
With my last unassimilated breath I tell you all: be careful, very careful!
So:
I am assimilated.
Resistance was futile.
All I ask for is an assignment to the collective. If there is no collective, well, I'll just call myself "one of one"...

Actually, the only reason I use multiple ... & !!! is for esthetic reasons !!!
I can't stand the way a digital exclamation mark looks at the end of a sentance !!!

It's getting to be somewhat addictive I'll agree, but it's kinda fun and doesn't hurt anyone ... so I type like that !!!

As for being a collective, compared to many nations, we might be considered slightly socialist in that we have medicare and many other costly social programs !!!
Eventually, when we're ready for it, I will step down as leader of the Collect.. ooops .. ummm .. the Canadians, to make way for a society that governs itself !!! Major issues will all be voted upon by an educated society !!! The only prerequisite of being able to vote is that you clearly understand both (or all) sides of the delema or debate !!! Personally, I believe having one leader is dangerous !!! Together we are stronger !!! But unlike the Borg collective, it would be a collective of individual minds thinking independantly ... did you make any sense of that ???
Speaking of the Borg, the recent voyager with the 29th century Borg was actually quite good !!!

The Canadians have to drug, kidnap, or blackmail people just to get them to assimilate. The 8th faction - the faction most likely to crash and burn early in the game(like the first turn).

Recently my sister joined the Canadian collective. I moved to New Jersey and she moved to Calgary for college. We both vowed not to pick up accents (midwesterns have no accent). I have remained pure from such evil things as calling 'pop' 's*da' and calling a 'sucker' a 'l*llipop*. She on the other hand has picked up "Eh" (Which actually I say a lot too, but just for kicks), and she's dating a Canadian! Ahhh!!! It's too much for me to bear!!! Oh, and not that anyone cares, but the reason Canucks use so many smilies is twofold. Anyway, Quebec is the best province in Canada!! Well, it's actually the only province I've been to, so I don't know about the others. But the French Fries, & those pretty Canadian girls who kept sneaking into the pool at the hotel we were at just give me a high standard of it. I guess you other Canadians dislike it's seperatist policies. Oh well, Quebec's loss.....
