Wasn't he the character John Trovolta played in that 1970's sitcom ??? Wasn't it called welcome back Cotter ??? |

I've searched a bit on this Cotter character and came up with this rather interesting web-ref: http://www.branta.demon.co.uk/alien-design/ Seems like Del's a serious dude...... Now the question is, whether he's in the story as a tribute to his work on Firaxis' own initiative or we have among us as a Lurker a profesional visionary of alien worlds? Actually, now that I think about it I seem to remember having seen postings in these forums bearing his name.... |

Well, you're right! I found the page, posted and THEN started browsing...damn, dead link land, but not all. Judging from what I found within half an hour, Del is not merely the owner of a "link station" and he do get credit in Episode 26 for contribution. Anyway, the site brought me to the WorldBuilder group (which is a VERY interesting SF-writer initiative), a kick-ass litterature list regarding plausible conditions on other planets suited for life (with comments, less far out than it sounds), a rather big source of SF-pictures and a (university?)-course on WorldBuilding at some californian institute. |

That would be Gabe Kaplin and it was "Welcome back Kotter", with a K. The characters name was Gabe Kotter. I have all this stored in my brain because I used to be in love with his wife on the show........ I forget her name! |
