The story will no doubt be finished in the manual, forcing us to buy the game. Like we need any encouragement! |

It is my impression that the story episodes will continue until the Demo is released (December 20th). That means there are four more episodes coming (five if you include December 21st.)What needs to be accomplished within these four or five episodes? 1. The entire crew has to be awakened and brought up to speed. 2. Santiago has to be rescued by the other Spartans. 3. Capt. Garland has to die (sooner rather than later I think). 4. The Faction leaders need to articulate their ideals/philosophies. 5. The crew has to be distributed among the functioning pods. 6. All seven Faction leaders need to appropriate specific pods. 7. I need to be put in the story (yes, I am willing to die for the Beliervers). What else must happen before landfall?

Well, I'm personally waiting for Lady Skye to give Santiago a few good boots to the head, but I suppose I can understand if Firaxis deems that 'optional'...

I think Yung would offer to release Santiago after captain Garland's death. Captain dead - no anonymus agreement on who would be next captain - faction began to run in the direction of chosen landing pods - Zakharov: 'And what shall we do with Santiago?' - Yung: 'Release her, of course. Good enemy is better than bad friend. And unorganized mob is more dangerous, than organized army wit aim to reach pod in time...'

10. Morgan still needs a faction! They'll finish the story in the manual, that will be the best. And when they make SMAC 2 they'll revile who killed Garland. |

I feel like the last couple episodes were "rushed" too, which does not make sense because they have extended the time to let the story unfold. The first 20 -22 episodes were very detailed and drawn out as jsorense points out there is a whole lot of material to cover in just a few episodes.Unless they are planning to run the story until the game is released (Jan '99) and then put the ending in the manual. I would have to think if they will be putting the ending in the manual, they already know where the web site leaves off and the manual takes over. WAS |

I just have the feeling like they're going to ruin it by ending it too quickly .. the story is a big part of the SMAC package !!! They have a first with this story !!! Of course, I hope they do a video for it as an intro !!! ... wouldn't that be cool ?? |
