Mike Ely is the only FIRAXIS employee to have taken some time to post on the new boards. So I think we all ought to give a big thanks to Mike Ely for giving us some feedback (and taking our wrath when they moved back the release date back again). Thanks a ton! Don't take the "argghhhhhhhh's"! on the "I hate doing this. . ." thread too personally. Thanks.

Just checked .. he officially has 81 posts in here !!! I don't recall seeing more than about 10 or so !!!Is there a BETA tester forum somewhere that we can't see ??? Anyways, MIKE .. what else do you do at FIRAXIS anyways ??? I've been wondering that for a while !!! Who writes the story ??? Do you go back to check the threads you started ??? What is your favorite colour ??? Do you prfer NIM or NYM ??? What is your favorite faction ??? What is the average main-speed velocity of a sparrow ??? How will SMAC multi actually work (in english) ??? Why R U the only one here ??? (I would think more active participation from employees could help marketing ten fold .. who better to get more people interested in the game than forum members ??? .. If we see more accurate info in here, we'd get more people to come for sure !!!) When's your birthday ??? Will you answer all these questions ??? Anyways .. have a nice day, and I hope you find it within your heart to answer a few of these perplexing questions !!! Thanx again !!! |

Yes Mike, thank you very much from the bottom of our SMAC filled hearts. Now if only you could improve the story script I gave you in "People who should really be in the story" thread and put it in the real thing, maybe change the name of the game to "Sid Meier's and Peter Ingraham's Alpha Centauri," ship the beta test copy over here...Um, never mind, ignore that last part. Thanks again! |

Perhaps there is a beta testers forum what an idea. This is a great SMAC rumour and should be cherished. |

Could you guys do me a favor and make sure this thread doesn't get too far down the list (just post in here every couple of hours until the new episode is up) ... I know Mike Ely's a busy guy and might miss it if it's too far down !!! Thanks !!! |

Ok I don't know about this Mike Ely joker but he sounds kind of suspicious to me.What I really want to say is that what you wanted to say is: What is the flight speed velocity of an unladen sparrow? Staff involvement in the boards will not boost sales, as they know each and every poster is going to buy the game already. There is no profit in it whatsoever. They do it if they are nice people or don't if they're not. (Also I heard that they are working on some sort of project. This may keep them entertained, so they might not post to this board out of boredom) However, the Baldur's Gate team posts, so :P |

My, my JonesEv, if you're going to quote Monty Python, do it right next time:You said: "What is the flight speed velocity of an unladen sparrow?" Correct quote: "WHAT is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?" or, conversely: "WHAT is the air-speed veloicty of a laden swallow?" (phonetics: "WHAT iz thee aar-speed vel-o-citee of a laaden swaal-o?") The question of King Arthur was: "A European or an African swallow?" (with upper-class British accent: "A Euur-o-pee-an o-r an af-ri-kan swaal-o?") The old man: "Well, I don't know. YAAAAGHGHGHHHHHHHH!!!!!" My memory isn't that great on other scenes (or the rest or necessarily the given parts of this one). |
