I just had a really cool idea how to save the government money and I wanted to know if you guys think it would work. Legalize kick backs. For every government project have high level bourocrat made project manger. Have him outline the budget and get it aprove by congress. Then for every dollar under budget the bourocrat gets 25%, his angency gets 25% and the country buys back its part of its debt with the other 50%.
Any constuctive thoughts?

Like most intelligent ideas this one would never get past congress.
Try the following to cut the federal budget.
Congress gets .01% of whatever the government makes that year, if there is a loss (as in most years currently) they dont get paid (talk about a good way to get rid of them ) if there is a gain they get a percentage of it.

How 'bout getting the federal government out of law enforcement and education and restoring federalism? And privatizing Social Security. And getting rid of farm subsidies. And ending corporate welfare. And decriminalizng drugs. And selling all the national parks to Greenpeace, John Muir Society, and the Sierra Club? Or better yet, Shell(j/k).

Plus if government got any new money, or saved money, they'd use the save money for the "Spotted Dick[English dessert] Society of Missisipi." Or at least Trent Lott would. And Tom Daschle would decide that Nebraska or one of the Dakotas or whatever the hell state he's from would government funds for the "National Defense Toilet to Protect America From Terroism, Keep Kids from Smoking, Reduce Class Size, and Make Health Care Fun!"

I like the idea of the selling our national forrest to green peace.
And I like the idea with congress sorta. I mean running the country is a full time job so they need a little bit of money. But I like the idea them getting more if the country has a postive balance(And no counting the social secerity surplus either!).
And seriously do you think my idea would work, assumeing it got passed.

We finally balanced ours here in CANADA, but it's still going to take forever to pay off our debt !!!

If you count all income- minus all payouts it is a postive balance. But your nots supose to count social secrity becuase that money is for savings.

Don't sell off national parks. Companies would be more willing to bully them than the government. Privatize healthcare, and higher education, not k-12. Legalize marijuana for medicinal purposes and limited research. Privatize nasa. Eliminate political "pork" and do away with lobbying and special interest groups. GLOBALIZE! End indirect action against the middeast. Strom them, replace their leaders, and put their people into a government that treats them fairly. Allow citizens to spend social security money on stocks, etc. Take over Cuba, damnit.

HEll, decriminalize all drugs!
Politicians claim our budget is balanced, but that's because we raided the Social Security Surplus!! And that hypocrite Clinton saying "Save Social Security First!"
