I bought it. It actually pretty good. The graphics are in my mind excellent. It is however scenario driven, and that is probably the only thing that disappoints me about it. I loved the open ended, make all the money you can in 100 years approach of RRT. But I suppose I'll get use to this. I recommend it with a buy rating. |

I hope it is good, I just bought it today. All I did was get it loaded. The graphics look pretty good. It looks like the strategy is pretty intense (alot to keep track of).I apoligize to Kirel. I have a very good reason for purchasing a "Non Sid" game. SMAC got pushed back about two months. I rest my case. WAS |

It's made by the same people who made HOMM II, the greatest pure strategy game so far. Isn't that enough? |

I've played the download, and while it is quite complex, and I kept on losing, I think its a great game already, especially due to the advanced economic model. |

I downloaded the demo a while back, and I found that I couldn't keep a profitable railroad. I invariably ran my company straight into the ground. I did find a strategy that worked great in the demo, though: gain 100% ownership of a company, then start a new company. Buy out your old company for a lot more than it is worth. You get rich while your investors get swindled. Repeat as necessary. I thought it was cool that something real-world like a pyramid scheme would work in a game. Unfortunately, I think I was exploiting a bug in the demo, because the strategy shouldn't have worked nearly as well as it did.Was the demo an accurate portrayal of the real game? Are there many bugs in the real game?
