what will the final goal in SMAC be? MAybe we'll:
-Go back to Earth
-Go to a different starsystem
-time travel?
-kill all other factions and rule the world
What do you think? Will it be general like the ones above or faction specific? I'll post after a few replies.

The goals will be:
1. Ascend to transcendence (I'll see you there).
2. Win by Military conquest.
Unless of course Firaxis have changed the goals since they were originally stated.

Are you suggesting we should wield you as a tool of destruction to scythe our way through the other factions before casting you back into the furnace to be reforged? Or not?
Whilst you may have trancended, I will rule Chiron. What do you mean there's no-one else there?
Realistically I think it will be difficult to conquer the planet because the AI will be a lot better than Civ or Civ II so staying alive will be my priority (That's what Spartans are really about after all) and going for trancendence.

Mike, "Hammer fo the Spartans" is a play on Led Zeppelin's "Hammer of the Gods". Usually "hammer of the ..." means you tend to pulp them into mincemeat (from where I have heard it used).
There's no-one else here, transcended into a being of pure energy like me. Gets lonely sometimes. *SIGHS*
I think it will depend on the difficuly level. Personally, I plan to play my first game on the wimpiest setting, with the advisor on. Actually, I probably will be playing the deom, so who knows if they'll have the advisor in...
