What if the story behind SMAC were some day made into a movie? I personally think it would be really cool to watch a movie about SMAC, and see the faction leaders for real. What actors would you want to see for the different faction leaders?
Morgan played by Denzel Washington
Santiago played by Sharon Stone ( Sharon with dark hair, wow!)
I can't think of any actors that look like the other leaders. Of course nowadays with makeup ...

Deidre: Elle McPherson
Morgan: Denzel Washington
Saratov: Billiy Bob Thornton
Lal: Apu Nahhasepemapetalon(The Simpsons clerk, his name is spelt wrong, I know)
Yang: Jackie Chan
Ok, & seeing Seagal in drag would be funny, wait, now that I think about it, he could dress up like he does now, & still look like Santiago(I don't know who that insults more?)

I think the story would have to be much different than the one we are getting now. Not to start a war but the story plays out as a bit racist.
The idea of diserting a war-torn planet is a bit too bleak for movie audiences these days. Look at the (non-)sucess of Waterworld and The Postman. Post apoc films are not as popular as earth saving films like the big hitters that have followed the sucess of ID4.

Denzel Washington as Morgan are very good choices.
That woman from "Dead Man Walking" as Miriam. You know who I mean, (she was religious too).
Chan's a bit young for Yang, but I don't know many Asian actors.
I think that Sid should make a few apperanced as an extra, ala Alfred Hitchcock.
The big question is "who will play the capitan?"

Personally I think the best choice for captian would be William Shatner (go on laugh.) In all seriousness I doubt they would ever make a movie based on SMAC very few pure (i.e. not already a book, comic, telivision show) games get made into movies. In fact can anyone name 2?

I know this is gonna sound like heresy but I think Michael Douglas would make the best Morgan.
Definately Sharon Stone as Santiago and then Meg Ryan as Miriam.

Not! Jackie Chang as Yang. Chang is a clown and it show (literaly a clown, he's trained as one). Maybe Jet Li could pull it off, I don't know.
Ben Kingsley as Pravin Lal and Anthony Hopkins as Saratov. Deidre Skye is hard... YYYH is right it should be some model but I'm not sure about Elle.
That's about it.

Because Ben Kingsley played Gandhi and did a fine job of it.
But I did try to come up with a middleeastern/indian actor but I don't know any.

Ok, more than 2 movies that were taken from games... Street Fighters and Mortal Kombat of course. 2 other movies that we will see in a near future on our silverscreens : "Final Fantasy : The Movie" and "Tombraider".
My personnal picks for a SMAC movie :
Santiago : Sigourney Weaver
Morgan : Morgan Freeman
Miriam : Susan Sarandon or Juliette Binoche
Lal Pravin : Ben Kingsley
Yang : Takeshi Kitano (a japanese actor/director/writer/humorist/painter...he has the physical appearance of a good Yang and the talent to play the part)
Deirdre : Emma Thompson or Uma Thurman. All depends on what aspect you want to show of her. Refinement or Seduction.
Captain Garland : Gary Oldman or Jeremy Irons.

Ben Kinsley as Pravin Lal is the best idea in the history of good ideas. (I don't know why I did this little paraphrase on a certain movie we all know since it has no relation what so ever to SMAC, it just came to me that way)

CUT THAT OUT! I meant the whole atmoshere of the story once the unity crashes on the planet. BTW: Anybody know about a 3 hour special edidition of Dune? I've looked in just about every vidio store in this 'frikkin city and I still can't find it!
