posted 11-06-98 10:53 AM ET Based on the screenshots I have a few suggestions: -shouldn't the underwater bases have a different icon then the "normal bases" ? -it looks like every faction has an own icon for a base. But what happens if a base is repeatedly conquered and reconquered. Does the base change it's appearance every time. It is a bit bizar. It might be a good idea to give the first base of every faction that distinct appeareance (of the screenshots), and give all the other bases the same icon (only in a different color, or with a different flag) -the "hurry button" in the basescreen should be simple a "buy button". But that's probably a question of taste.

On undersea-bases: On the old board, firaxis have agreed on requests to make them look more "undersea-ish".
Changing appearance: I don't know. But bases may change when they grow or with new techs, as in civII, so it would be the best idea IMO to use the respective faction-design in that moment.

I forgot two things,
-there wasn't a shortcut key for "next unit" in CivII. Which was unpractical at times, because when you clicked on land so that you had deselected your unit and you wan't to continue with your list of units you first had to find a unit which you hadn't used that turn. It would be nice if that could be done automatically. -what happens if a faction is destroyed? In CivII you had replacements in the form of other nationalities, and usually quite a few computer players were terminated in the first phase of the game. But I hardly think that there will be spontaneous erections of new idealogies. Or will there?
