I think it would be cool if each faction evolved their own transcendence, according to their ideal human.

The Gaians would form a single consciousness along with the intelligent planet.

The Spartans would evolve into completely autonomous individuals. Powerful and self-sufficient. I'm picturing something Predator like but still human.

The Lords Followers would evolve a true spiritual transcendence and mysticism.

The Hive would evolve a true Hive mind with specialized individuals. Something along the line of hive insects on earth.

The University humans would evolve into some sort of super intelligent self-replicating part human, part machine beings. "We have become our technology."

The Peacekeepers I would picture as the most traditional evolved humans. They would have advanced intelligence, morality, ethics, empathy, perhaps some telepathy.

I think I understand the ideals of each faction and find them all attractive, except for the Morgan Conglomerate. What is their ideal? What would their ideal evolved human look like? Any suggestions here? Help me out!

Morgan Conglomerate people would be able to telepathically check up on stock prices, would have minds capable for calculating and huge sums instantly and remembering lots of numerical information. Making business deals would become an instinct, so that even small children would run their own businesses.

Ok, maybe not.

What do you mean by evolve? Will the game go on for long enough for us to observe any effects of evolution?

I agree with Moon Rat about the Gaians, Spartans, PKs and Lord Followers.

I think the Hive would become like the Borg, and the UoP would become so evolved, they would just be minds left, practically ominiscient.

The Morgan Conglomerate would just be full of really rich people getting richer by the minute, all of which would have tons of things to impress their friends. Then they would stop buying things, and they would just destroy themselves, so who cares...

Most of these sound pretty good.

I think that the UoP would abandon material bodies entirely in an attempt to get beyond the restrictions of the physical senses.

However I disagree about the Spartans. I agree that they would become hyper efficient killing machines. I think that their transcendence would be a massive civil war resulting in their extinction. None of the other factions would care; they would be so pleased to see the end of such a moribund, pointless philosophy and faction.

I think the Morgan Conglomerate would evolve into something similar to Q from TNG. A very self-absorbed, meddelling entiety, interested in their own personal amsuement.

Or maybe not.

Why should the university ideal be a disembodied mind? The whole point of their existence is technology and science. Nothing exists beyond what they can analyze and quantify. I think their whole idea of advancement would rely on technology. Their ideal advancement would be uniting themselves with technology. You can see that I don't care for the University ideal. I think that any being that holds technology as the answer to everything has a very narrow and mistaken ideal.

I like Ben Music's idea. The Morganites would attract those individuals that are most self absorbed and intent on personal gratification.

dushan: I dont think the game will cover the time span required by evolution in the strict sense, but its fun to think of in a science fiction sense.

The Morganites would evolve into short humanoids with fairly dark skin, sharp teeth, and huge ear lobes... d:
